STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD, the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office and the NYC Police Foundation will together host a gun buy-back event next month in West Brighton.
The program will take place at Edificadores de Naciones, 947 Castleton Ave., from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

New Yorkers will receive a $200 pre-paid card and an Apple iPad — subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis — for operable handguns and assault rifles. For rifles, shotguns and airguns, individuals will receive a $25 pre-paid card.
No questions will be asked, according to the NYPD.
“There are too many guns on our streets,” said Assistant Chief Gin Yee, the NYPD borough commander. “Please turn them in for cash and an iPad.”
