A prototype image of the Blackberry Q10 indicates that the device might have a rubber back instead of a glass finish back, just like the one that is present on the Blackberry Z10.
The Blackberry Q10 was one of the two smartphones showcased by Blackberry at the Blackberry 10 event which took place in the month of January. During this event, the official Blackberry Q10 had a glass weave back which was used in order to provide a premium feeling to consumers and at the same time ensure that the device somewhat resembles the Blackberry Bold 9900 series smartphones due to which users would have a sense of continuity.
According to an image from Genk, it shows a pre-production example of the Blackberry Q10 device. This device shows a rubber grip finish instead of the one that we all thought would be present on the device. This indicates that Blackberry might have done some rounds of testing to check what would best suit the device in order to make it appealing and easy to use for its consumers.
It seems this is an image from the testing phase which took place before the actual Blackberry event. This cover also indicates that the Q10 will have a larger and higher capacity battery as compared to the Blackberry Z10. The Z10 has a 1800 mAh battery, whereas the Q10 is said to have a 2100 mAh battery which will provide a much better battery backup as compared to the Z10.
If the Q10 does have a 2100 mAh battery, let us not forget that the device also has a smaller screen which indicates that we might get to see a huge difference between the battery performance of these two devices. However, to get the actual results, we will have to wait till Spring in order to actually try out the Blackberry Q10.
