The cumbersome process of resetting a smartwatch to sync with a new phone has been a point of contention among users. Prior to the update, even the best Android smartwatches required a full reset for a seamless transfer between phones. However, with the new update to Google Play Services, version 23.39, transferring a Wear OS 4 watch to a different Android phone has become a hassle-free task.
According to Android Police, the Play Services update is a significant quality-of-life improvement and one of the notable additions to the Wear OS 4. The ability to move a smartwatch from one phone to another without resetting the watch is a boon for users, making smartwatch transfer on the phone side seamless.
