Motorola’s latest addition to its Edge series, the 2024 Motorola Edge 50 Pro, promises to deliver an enhanced user experience without breaking the bank. Officially launched earlier this year in India, this mid-range smartphone aims to strike a balance between performance and affordability, targeting a wide range of consumers.
Design and Display
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro features a sleek design with an aluminum frame and a choice between vegan leather and acetate finishes. It is available in Black and Lavender, with a limited edition Midnight Pearl version also on offer. The phone boasts a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a 144Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for smooth scrolling and gaming. The display supports HDR10+ and can reach a peak brightness of up to 2000 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals even under direct sunlight.
Performance
Under the hood, the Edge 50 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which provides solid performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. Users can choose between 8GB or 12GB of RAM, coupled with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The device is also IP68 certified, making it resistant to dust and water.
Camera System
The camera setup on the Edge 50 Pro is quite versatile, featuring a triple-camera system on the back. This includes a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 13MP ultrawide lens. The front-facing camera is a substantial 50MP sensor, perfect for high-resolution selfies and video calls.

Software and Features
Motorola has introduced its new Hello UX interface with the Edge 50 Pro, which is a mild refresh of its previous version. This interface offers a near-stock Android experience with some useful additions, including gesture controls and a suite of AI-based features under the Moto AI umbrella. These AI capabilities enhance various aspects of the phone, from camera functions to user interface customization.
