The most reliable way to make a rock song with AI is to use a song generator for the vocal demo, then refine the arrangement with editable stems or MIDI. Start with Suno, Udio, or Eleven Music; use Beat Shaper or Soundverse AI Beat Maker when you need tighter control over drums and instrumental parts.

Step 1: Define The Rock Brief
- Write one sentence describing the subgenre, such as “arena rock with a driving riff, wide chorus and gritty lead vocal.”
- Add a tempo range, vocal character, instrument list and song structure. For example: “Verse, pre-chorus, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, final double chorus; distorted guitars, bass, acoustic drums and a short guitar solo.”
- Decide whether you need a finished song, an instrumental bed or editable parts. Choose Suno, Udio or Eleven Music for a vocal song; choose Beat Shaper or Soundverse AI Beat Maker for a controllable instrumental.
Step 2: Generate The First Song
- Open Suno, Udio or Eleven Music and select the song-generation workflow.
- Paste your brief into the prompt field. If the tool accepts custom lyrics, paste verses and chorus separately so the sections are easy to revise.
- Generate several versions and keep the take with the strongest chorus, vocal phrasing and guitar energy. Treat these as demos until you confirm the plan’s usage terms.
Suno
Suno generates vocals, lyrics, instrumentation and production, then supports editing, remixing, extensions, section replacement and stem export. The Free Plan includes 50 credits per day and an 8-minute audio upload limit, but it does not include commercial rights or stem separation.
Udio
Udio can generate from text prompts or lyrics, edit lyrics, blend voice references, extend or transform audio, and refine a track in Sessions. Its current transition period disables audio, video and stem downloads, so check the service status before committing to an export-based workflow.

Eleven Music
Eleven Music supports full songs with AI vocals, lyrics or instrumental tracks, plus section editing, inpainting, genre transitions and audio references. Its Free plan provides 10,000 credits per month for personal use; commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV and studio games.

Step 3: Tighten The Drum And Instrumental Parts
- Open Beat Shaper when you want piano-roll control over drums, basslines, synths, loops or arrangements.
- Set the genre, mood, energy and syncopation controls to match the brief, then edit the MIDI notes until the verse and chorus have different momentum.
- Choose Soundverse AI Beat Maker when you are working on a phone or want a complete instrumental with separated stems and MIDI. Its Free Tier starts with 1,000 tokens upon signup.
- For a quick mobile beat draft, use InsMelo AI Beat Maker. Enter the text prompt, set genre, BPM, mood and structure, then extend the beat or separate tracks as needed.
Step 4: Replace Weak Sections
- In Suno, use section replacement, remixing or extensions to rebuild a weak verse, chorus or ending.
- In Udio, edit lyrics, extend or transform the audio, then refine timing and sections in Sessions.
- In Eleven Music, use section editing or inpainting for a targeted replacement and apply genre transitions when the bridge needs a different feel.
- In Mureka, upload a suitable reference, generate an alternative, and use extensions, remixing or multitrack editing to compare arrangements. Mureka Studio and up to 12-stem splitting are available only on Premier.
Step 5: Create A Mix-Ready Arrangement
- Export the parts your plan allows and name them by section and instrument, such as “Chorus_Drums” or “Bridge_Guitar.”
- Use Beat Shaper for MIDI, WAV, MP3, stem or DAW-project exports when your plan includes them. Ableton Live project export and real-time MIDI require Producer.
- Use Soundverse AI Beat Maker for WAV mixes, separated stems and MIDI. Creator & Pro includes studio multitrack access, stem export and commercial licenses.
- Keep the AI vocal and instrumental versions aligned at the same tempo before assembling the song in your DAW.
Step 6: Remix, Master And Prepare A Release
- Upload the draft to Loudly if you need remixing, separated stems, mastering or effects.
- Compare the remixed arrangement with your original and keep the version whose chorus remains clear after mastering.
- Use Loudly’s distribution tools only after checking the licensing terms for your plan. Free generated tracks are limited to 30 seconds, while paid licensing rights depend on the selected plan.
Step 7: Check Voice, Cover And Commercial Rights
- Use only lyrics, recordings, reference audio and voice models you have permission to use. This matters especially when a workflow accepts uploads, voice references or voice cloning.
- Check the plan’s rights before publishing. Suno’s Free Plan has no commercial rights; Eleven Music’s commercial terms vary by plan; Beat Shaper Starter downloads are non-commercial; InsMelo’s commercial rights depend on its subscription or license terms.
- If you use a cover or recognizable voice, read the platform’s current terms and confirm that your source recording and voice consent are allowed.
Step 8: Export The Final Rock Song
- Render a full mix and, when available under your plan, WAV, MP3, stems or MIDI.
- Listen once on headphones and once on ordinary speakers. Check that the vocal remains intelligible, the kick and bass do not mask each other, and the final chorus is louder in energy without clipping.
- Save the prompt, lyric version, source files, generation date and plan used with the exported audio so you can document how the track was made.
