Overview

Seglo is a grooming-business platform for managing bookings, pet records, staff and payments across web, iOS and Android. It suits operators who need scheduling to account for grooming requirements as well as customer and pet routines. Its free tier makes it possible to start with core tools, while paid plans add capacity and operational features at rising monthly prices.

Key features

Seglo’s scheduling can factor in grooming steps, staff skills and equipment such as baths, tables and dryers. That is a practical distinction for businesses coordinating more than appointment slots: availability can reflect the resources and people a groom requires. Pet records and Grooming Care extend scheduling beyond the visit, tracking care cycles, suggesting the next groom and automatically booking from a pet’s cycle.

Customer communications include email reminders, photo messaging and automatic Google review requests. SMS reminders are paid, so businesses relying on text messages should account for that alongside plan costs. Paid Business plans include online payments and Tap to Pay on iPhone, but processing fees are separate. Seglo also offers recurring appointments and staff scheduling.

Optional AI Receptionist handles routine booking calls using the business’s services and availability, and can pass questions requiring human judgement back to the business. Its monthly price does not include call usage. Seglo lists Xero two-way sync on Scale, making that plan more relevant to operators who need that accounting connection.

Seglo says it complies with Australia’s Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, and cites encryption, role-based access, audit logging and multi-factor authentication as safeguards. It says it does not sell personal information; data may be processed or stored in Australia, Singapore, the United States or other service-provider locations. Help is available by live chat and email; email support is provided during Australian business hours, with an intended response within two business days.

Pricing

Seglo is freemium, with a free plan, paid plans from 49.00 AUD per month and a 14-day trial. The plans address different operating needs rather than offering one price for every team size:

Free — 0.00 AUD, no monthly fee: One person and one location, with online booking, pet records, rostering, pay calculation and commission. A useful starting point for a solo operator, but it does not include the paid-plan payment features.
Starter — 49.00 AUD per month: One to three people at one location, a $10 monthly credit, Grooming Care, online payments and Tap to Pay. It is the entry point for small teams that want cycle-based pet care and payment tools.
Growth — 99.00 AUD per month: Four to six people at one location, a $25 monthly credit, intake and consent forms, leave management and timesheets. The added staff administration makes it a better fit than Starter when coordinating a larger team.
Scale — 199.00 AUD per month: Seven to 15 people, unlimited locations, a $50 monthly credit, automatic gap filling and Xero two-way sync. This is the relevant tier for multi-location businesses or teams that need those workflow and accounting features.
Enterprise — 349.00 AUD per month: 16 to 30 people, unlimited locations, a $100 monthly credit and priority support with a four-hour response. It suits larger operations that place value on that response commitment.
Seglo Phone — 79.00 AUD per month: Month-to-month billing starts when the number goes live. Two devices are included; each extra device costs A$29/month + GST, with a one-time A$149 setup + GST. Standard Australian calls, SMS and MMS are included under fair use. This is a separate phone plan, and its setup and device charges matter when budgeting.
AI Receptionist — 149.00 AUD per month: Call usage is charged separately at A$0.40/min for inbound AI calls and A$0.70/min for outbound AI calls; usage prices exclude GST. Businesses with frequent calls should weigh those variable charges against the benefit of automated routine booking.

Payment processing fees are separate from paid Business plans. Seglo’s free plan has no monthly fee; the listed paid plans are monthly, except Seglo Phone, which is month to month and starts billing when its number goes live. The 14-day trial offers a short evaluation window before recurring charges begin.

Platforms

Seglo supports Android, iOS and web. Its Appointments app is listed for iPhone and Android, its Business app for iPad, and its Phone app for iPhone and Android. That gives teams mobile access alongside the web platform, with a dedicated device requirement for the iPad Business app.

Who it's for

Seglo is aimed at grooming businesses, including registered sole traders, partnerships and companies. The free plan is sized for one person at one location; Starter and Growth suit small teams, while Scale and Enterprise cover larger teams or multiple locations. It is less compelling for a business that only needs a basic appointment calendar and does not need grooming-specific resource scheduling, pet-cycle management or team operations.

Pros and cons

Pro: Scheduling accounts for grooming steps, staff skills and equipment, which better reflects how grooming appointments consume resources.
Pro: Grooming Care can suggest or automatically book the next groom from a pet’s cycle, helping businesses manage repeat care.
Pro: The free plan includes online booking, pet records, rostering and pay calculation for one person at one location.
Con: SMS reminders are paid, and payment processing fees are separate, so the plan price is not the whole communications and payments cost.
Con: AI Receptionist adds per-minute call charges on top of its monthly fee, which can make costs vary with usage.
Con: Capacity and location limits step up by tier; a business needing more than six people or additional locations must move beyond Growth.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse Pet Grooming Scheduling Software. GroomWork is worth considering for an independent groomer who can work within its free tier’s 40 monthly appointments or wants its 24.00 USD per month Solo plan with unlimited appointments. PawScheduler is a web-based freemium alternative. ShakeYourTail is a web-based freemium alternative. DaySmart Pet is another option for teams seeking a paid platform with a free trial and apps across Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows; its Basic plan is 29.00 USD per month with payments or 39.00 USD per month without, for one user, 500 monthly text messages and 1,000 monthly email messages.

Verdict

Choose Seglo if your grooming business needs appointments shaped around staff and equipment, ongoing pet-care cycles, and a path from solo operation to multiple locations. Its strongest case is the way grooming-specific scheduling connects with pet records and business operations. Look elsewhere if you need only a simple calendar or want to avoid separate SMS, payment-processing or AI-call charges.
