Overview

For teams managing alerts, reminders, schedule changes, or announcements, DialMyCalls brings SMS, voice broadcasts, and email into one service. Churches can send mass and automated messages from iPhone or Android; broader organizational uses include reaching customers, employees, members, and residents. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, the service also offers an API for syncing contacts and adding SMS and voice broadcasts to existing software.

Its stated safeguards include 256-bit SSL encryption, routine PCI compliance scans, employee two-factor authentication, and SOC 2 Type II-compliant data center facilities. DialMyCalls says customer account information remains the organization’s property and will not be sold, disclosed, or distributed.

Key features

Text messaging

Teams can send immediate or scheduled mass SMS, set recurring messages, use templates, send MMS, text landlines, and run text polls. Two-way replies and audience segmentation make the service useful for more than one-way announcements: organizations can invite responses and target relevant groups. The constraint for churches is that monthly-plan group texts are capped at 157 characters. Longer texts cost an additional monthly fee, so teams that routinely send detailed updates should account for that extra charge.

Voice broadcasts

Broadcasts can use a recording or text-to-speech, with answering-machine detection, press-1 responses, opt-outs, and reports. These controls give organizations options for reaching people who may not respond to a text, while response and opt-out handling helps make broadcasts more manageable.

Integrations and support

Listed integrations include Acuity Scheduling, Calendly, Constant Contact, Eventbrite, Freshdesk, Google Calendar, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier, and Zoho. Phone and live chat support are offered seven days a week, alongside email support and 24-hour emergency support for eligible accounts.

Pricing

DialMyCalls is freemium in its pricing model, but it does not offer a free plan. Paid plans start at $9.99/mo, and a 14-day trial is available. The trial’s church option is tightly limited: the Free church trial is 0.00 USD per free and provides one automatic call per week to up to 25 church members, with a 30-second message. That is enough to try a small weekly call, not to evaluate sustained multi-channel outreach.

The Contact Based plan has custom pricing, billed monthly or annually with 10% savings on annual billing. Its price depends on the selected contact count, and messages go to a set group, making it the better fit for recurring communication with a stable audience. The Credit Based plan also has custom pricing, with monthly or annual billing and 10% annual savings; its price depends on the chosen credit amount. Unused credits roll over, and larger accounts must contact sales. This better accommodates changing contact lists, though variable credit needs make budgeting less straightforward.

Pay As You Go uses one-time credit purchases with a 200-credit minimum. Rates are 7.5¢ each for 200–499 credits, 7.0¢ for 500–999, 6.5¢ for 1,000–2,499, 5.8¢ for 2,500–9,999, 5.0¢ for 10,000–24,999, 4.4¢ for 25,000–49,999, 4.1¢ for 50,000–99,999, and 3.8¢ for 100,000–250,000; purchases of 250,000 or more require contacting sales. The one-credit rule is important to forecasting: one credit covers either one call to one number with a 30-second message or one text to one number with up to 157 characters.

The plan structure favors organizations that can estimate a recurring contact group or message volume. The published $9.99/mo starting price and 150 messages/mo allowance provide a low entry point, but the contact- and credit-based plan prices vary with selection, and church texts beyond the monthly character cap add cost.

Platforms

DialMyCalls supports Android, iOS, and web access, alongside an API and extension. The mobile apps matter most to church teams sending messages away from a desk; the API is the more relevant route for teams integrating contact syncing and messaging into existing software.

Who it's for

DialMyCalls is a practical fit for congregations and other organizations that need a mix of text, voice, and email outreach, especially when they value mobile sending, scheduled or recurring messages, and two-way replies. Teams with stable contact groups can consider Contact Based pricing; those with changing lists may find Credit Based or one-time credit purchases more suitable. It is less compelling for organizations that need a generous free tier, routinely send long church texts, or need predictable pricing without choosing a contact or credit amount.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple communication channels—SMS, voice, and email—support alerts and announcements without restricting outreach to one format.
Pros: Scheduled and recurring messages, segmentation, two-way replies, and text polls support ongoing, targeted communication as well as one-off notices.
Pros: API access and a broad set of listed integrations give teams paths to connect messaging with existing software.
Cons: Church group texts on monthly plans stop at 157 characters unless the organization pays an additional monthly fee.
Cons: Contact Based and Credit Based plans use custom pricing tied to selected amounts, which makes the eventual monthly cost less immediately clear.
Cons: The church trial is only one weekly, 30-second call to up to 25 members, so it offers little room to assess regular text campaigns.

Alternatives

Churches wanting a free tier with monthly SMS and email allowances can consider Gloo Communications: its Gloo Free plan includes 500 SMS credits and 500 email credits per month, along with three groups and one workflow. Teams wanting a larger church-oriented trial can look at Clearstream, whose 30-day trial includes 100 credits, 1,000 emails, and one local phone number; its US $35 plan includes 1,000 credits per month.

SlickText may suit teams prioritizing a feature-complete trial: it offers 14 days with every feature and no credit card required, followed by a 500-credit plan at 29.00 USD per month. For a church-specific platform, Text In Church offers a PLUS plan with 1.25K credits and four local phone numbers, with yearly billing available at 17% savings.

Textline is an option for teams that need at least 600 included message credits per month and three agents on its Essentials plan, with HIPAA-compliant plans available for an additional cost. Shepherding Connections offers a free-forever tier for up to five user accounts, but it excludes SMS messaging. For teams focused on keyword-based capture, Textiful has an On Demand option with one keyword on a 10-digit number and credits that never expire. Vesperbell offers a free plan with 100 contacts, 200 monthly text credits, 500 monthly emails, and one team seat, phone number, keyword, and workflow.

Verdict

DialMyCalls is a sound choice for churches and organizations that need mobile access to coordinated text, voice, and email outreach, with an API and integrations to fit an existing stack. Its range of message controls is the main reason to choose it; the 157-character church limit and pricing tied to contact or credit volume are the main reasons to look elsewhere if long messages or a fixed, transparent monthly budget matter more.
