Inferse is a publication for people who want to understand technology and make better everyday decisions about it.

What we cover

Inferse follows technology, computing, gadgets, science and business. Our archive includes reporting on major technology companies, software, consumer devices and the ways new products affect everyday life.

News explains what has changed; guides help with a particular task; and reviews or comparisons examine choices. These formats serve different purposes. An announcement or a specification summary should not be read as a hands-on test.

Our publisher and history

Inferse became part of Yorker Media in September 2026. Ratnesh Kumar oversees the publication. The site keeps its own name, subject focus and editorial identity.

The archive retains original author bylines and publication dates. A historical byline credits the work; it does not imply that its author still has an editorial or administrative role. More information is on our Team page.

Reading our archive

Technology changes quickly. Older instructions may refer to a previous software version, regional release or discontinued product. Check the date, version and context of an article before acting on it. An updated date reflects a change to the article, rather than a new original publication.

Corrections and accountability

If something looks inaccurate, send the article URL, the disputed detail and a reliable source through our Contact page. We review specific corrections and distinguish factual changes from differences of opinion. Our Editorial policy explains the standard we apply.
