Prime Day is here, and if you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to snag Apple’s 10.2-inch, 9th-generation iPad, your patience has paid off. The Wi-Fi model with 64 GB of storage is now available at a record low price of $250, offering a significant savings of $79 or 24 percent. Additionally, the 256 GB version and the cellular models are also on sale, providing more memory options and connectivity choices at discounted prices. Whether you’re looking for an entertainment machine or a reliable workhorse, Apple’s budget-friendly iPad offers an excellent value proposition.
Despite its age, the 9th-generation iPad remains our top pick for the best budget Apple tablet. Powered by the A13 Bionic chip, it delivers sufficient speed for gaming and everyday tasks. The tablet also features a headphone jack and a physical home button, catering to those who prefer those traditional elements. With its versatility, it serves as a great entertainment companion for reading, music listening, and movie watching.
The 9th-gen iPad offers notable improvements, including an upgraded front camera for enhanced video calls and impressive battery life. However, it retains a dated design with a Lightning port, a home button, thicker bezels, and a non-laminated display. While these aspects may feel less modern compared to newer models, they do not hinder the tablet’s functionality for most users.
One area where the 9th-gen iPad falls slightly behind newer models is its display quality. Although it performs well for most tasks, the display may not match the level of excellence found in the latest iPads. However, considering the affordability and overall performance of the device, this trade-off is reasonable for many consumers.
