Use an AI singing voice only after you have permission to use the voice and the recordings or model behind it; then check the tool’s terms for the planned release. For a new song, build the vocal from lyrics or MIDI with a singing-voice tool. For a voice conversion, use a performance you are authorized to transform and a voice model you are authorized to use. Keep those permissions and the platform’s licensing terms separate in your release checklist.

Get Permission Before You Make the Voice
Ask the singer or recording owner for permission before uploading reference vocals, training a custom model, or converting a performance. Be specific about what you plan to do: create a model, generate or transform singing, edit the result, distribute the track, and promote it. Shape the Vocal for the Song
Give the singer or model a focused musical brief, then make the performance decisions in the controls the tool actually provides. For example, prepare a MIDI melody for a verse and chorus, pair it with your lyrics, and request permission to train on a singer’s reference vocals only if the singer has agreed. In an editor with pitch, timing, pronunciation, timbre, or expression controls, refine those elements against the melody and words. For an existing authorized performance, preserve the original take and compare the converted vocal with it phrase by phrase.
