To create a song with a heavy bassline, generate the bass and drums as separate, editable parts whenever possible, then check that the kick and sub-bass occupy different spaces. Start with a precise low-end brief, make several short variations, keep the strongest bass phrase, and export stems or MIDI for final balancing.
Define The Heavy-Bass Brief Before Generating
Heavy bass is more than “make it bassy.” Write down the job the bass must perform:

- Register: sub-bass for physical weight, mid-bass for audible growl, or both.
- Rhythm: sustained notes, short syncopated hits, slides, or an offbeat pattern.
- Relationship with the kick: leave clear gaps or use a pumping, sidechain-like rhythm.

- Arrangement: specify an intro, build, drop, breakdown, and ending if the bassline needs to evolve.
Use a prompt such as: “Instrumental electronic track with a huge clean sub-bass, gritty mid-bass layer, syncopated eighth-note bass riff, tight kick with space between hits, sparse verses, and a powerful drop.” Replace “electronic” with your intended style, and describe the bass rhythm rather than relying on a genre label alone.

Balance The Low End After Export
- Import the bass and kick stems into your DAW or multitrack editor.
- Choose one dominant sub region for the bass and remove unnecessary low rumble from other parts.
- Align the kick and bass timing; shorten or move bass notes that mask the kick.
- Automate bass level so verses stay controlled and the drop gains weight without clipping.
- Check the mix quietly and on headphones or speakers with different bass responses.
- Export a full mix plus the individual bass, kick and other stems for later revisions.

Keep the plan and license associated with every exported version.
