HTC has long been rumored to be developing the 2016 model year Nexus smartphones through anything substantive on this has been lacking so far.
Not anymore thanks to a comprehensive leak that first appeared on Android Police.
As things have been over the months, there are two Nexus devices – Sailfish and Marlin – in the making. The latest spec leak points to the smaller of the two siblings, the Sailfish.
Hence, it’s going to be a 5-inch device, after all, having a 1080p HD display with pixel density of 440ppi. The device will sport a 4 GB RAM along with a 32 GB ROM. It’s not known at this point if that is the base model though there sure will be other models with less or more storage options. A 2770mAH power source is also up to associate with the Sailfish, which though will be modest at best.

Further, the device will also come with a fingerprint scanner at the rear even though the speaker will accommodate along the bottom. The headphone jack is placed at the top while a USB Type-C port will take care of data transfer or charging duties.
Also, it’s going to be a 64-bit quad-core chip rated at 2.0GHz that would be powering the device. The source, however, hasn’t mentioned the make of the processor though an earlier rumor had pegged it at Snapdragon 821.

So far as the camera is concerned, it is going to be a 12-megapixel camera at the rear along with an 8-megapixel shooter at the front.
No additional details are available at the moment, like whether there is going to be OIS or other tech aids and so on.

Android Police is claiming it is pretty confident of its source, which means chances of the upcoming smaller Nexus sporting the above specs is relatively high. That said, there still might be a few surprises thrown in.
Finally, even though the specs reveal a quite well-rounded package so far as the smaller of the two 2016 Nexus handset is concerned, what was difficult to deny is that those do not point to anything that makes the handset immediately likable. It is almost the same as what all the current Android flagships have on offer, except that those make do with a Snapdragon 820 chip.
