About
Buoyant Enterprise for Linkerd is Buoyant’s enterprise distribution of Linkerd, a service mesh for Kubernetes. It encrypts meshed traffic with mutual TLS and offers traffic controls including latency-based load balancing, timeouts, retries, circuit breaking, gRPC load balancing, and blue-green or canary deployments. For multi-cluster environments, it supports federated services and automatic cross-cluster failover. Observability includes L7 success-rate and latency metrics, Prometheus-compatible metric exports, and OpenTelemetry tracing. Its zone-aware load balancing normally keeps requests local, routing elsewhere when local endpoints are overloaded or return errors. Premium includes stable releases, automated installs and upgrades, CVE remediation SLAs, multi-cluster communication, and Linux VM workloads. Strategic adds SBOMs, hotpatch releases, and 24×7 support SLAs; FIPS validated cryptography is optional. BEL is free to try, and companies with fewer than 50 employees can use it in production at any scale. Premium and Strategic pricing is available on request.
Who it is for
It suits teams running Kubernetes that need traffic controls, cross-cluster communication, and service-mesh observability. The free production option is limited to companies with fewer than 50 employees; larger organizations can consider Premium or Strategic, with pricing on request.
