Lightroom Presets by peva3

Overview

Lightroom Presets by peva3 is a free downloadable library of XMP presets for Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC. It is best for photographers who want a broad, editable set of film-inspired and creative looks without committing to a commercial pack. Its strongest case is breadth at no cost; users should expect to refine presets for each image.

Key features

The collection spans 445 presets in 13 categories, including looks inspired by Kodak Portra, Fujifilm Classic Chrome, Cinestill 800T and Ilford HP5, alongside creative styles and alternative processes. That range gives photographers plenty of starting points in one download, but does not guarantee a consistent result across different images or shooting conditions.

The presets are XMP files for Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC. They can be inspected, modified and shared, making the pack useful to photographers who want to tailor settings or learn from them. A ZIP contains all 445 presets. Installation requires copying the files into Lightroom's Develop Presets folder on macOS or Windows, then restarting the application.

The project recommends adjusting white balance and exposure after applying a preset, and says its grain settings were tuned for 24MP images. These caveats matter: the presets are a foundation for editing, not a substitute for image-specific corrections. Video presets and mobile support are also included, though the installation guidance focuses on desktop Lightroom.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes all 445 XMP presets under the MIT license. It is a straightforward choice for individuals or teams who want to download, edit and share the files without a preset-pack purchase. There are no paid tiers or seat-based limits described. The project also invites questions through issues and discussions.

Platforms

The project lists macOS and Windows support, with compatibility for Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC. Mobile support is included, but the documented installation steps cover desktop Develop Presets folders; users should not assume the desktop directions describe the mobile setup.

Who it's for

This is a good fit for photographers who value an expansive free library, want to experiment with film-inspired treatments, or prefer editable files and an MIT license over a closed commercial pack. It is less compelling for editors who need a tightly guided, image-specific workflow or want presets that require little adjustment.

Pros and cons

• Pro: 445 presets across 13 categories provide a wide range of looks in a single download.
• Pro: Editable, shareable XMP files and MIT licensing suit users who want to customize or reuse the presets.
• Pro: The free plan includes the complete collection, rather than limiting access to a small starter set.
• Con: White balance and exposure adjustments are recommended after application, so users should budget for image-by-image refinement.
• Con: Grain settings were tuned for 24MP images, a relevant constraint for photographers working with other image resolutions.
• Con: Installation instructions focus on desktop Lightroom folders, which offers less guidance for the included mobile support.

Alternatives

Photo Preset Libraries is the broader category directory for comparing preset options. Choose Mextures if you want overlays, including an X-Film Overlay Pack priced at 10.00 USD per month; its yearly membership is 89.00 USD per year. VSCO is a better fit for users seeking a freemium option across web and mobile: Starter is free with 15 presets, while Plus is 29.99 USD per year with 200+ presets.

Consider RNI Films for a separate freemium film-look option across desktop and mobile platforms. Signature Edits suits buyers looking for one-time purchases, including its Clean & Classic collection at 59.00 USD per once. Visual Flow is another paid preset option, with its B&W Mixer priced at 110.00 USD per once.

Capture One is the alternative to consider when desktop RAW conversion, tethering and advanced editing tools matter more than a Lightroom preset library; its Pro Subscription has custom pricing and a free trial. Greater Than Gatsby offers a 641-preset bundle for 249.00 USD per once. The Luxe Lens offers a First Years Baby & Newborn desktop and mobile preset purchase for 14.00 USD per once.

Verdict

Choose Lightroom Presets by peva3 if you want a sizable, editable Lightroom library at no cost, especially if you value an open license and are willing to tune exposure and white balance. Look elsewhere if you need a more guided workflow or a different editing platform; the collection's breadth does not remove the work of fitting a look to each image.
