Zilliz Cloud is a managed Milvus service for deploying vector search applications, with Free, Serverless, and Dedicated cluster options. It supports approximate nearest neighbor, filtered, hybrid, and full-text search, as well as metadata filtering and sparse vectors. Serverless clusters scale automatically to zero. During ingestion, a configured embedding function can turn raw text into vector embeddings. The service supports vectors up to 32768 dimensions and index types including FLAT, HNSW, DISKANN, AUTOINDEX, and sparse indexes. SDK languages include Python, Java, Go, Node.js, and C++. Documented integrations include Prometheus, Datadog, cloud storage services, and external model providers; migration sources include Pinecone, Qdrant, Elasticsearch, and PostgreSQL. Zilliz documents TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and role-based access control. mTLS is unavailable, and customer-managed keys are limited to Business Critical SaaS and BYOC deployments in AWS regions. Free cluster pricing is free, with 5 GB storage, 2.5M vCUs/month, and up to 5 collections. Storage charges apply even when a cluster is stopped.
