New Dell XPS 12 and Refreshed XPS 13 with 1TB SSD,16 GB RAM leaked in images

It’s no surprise that tech giants are realizing the ever growing popularity of convertibles in the mainstream market. Microsoft’s Surface Pro range apparently set the benchmark for hybrid devices, and there are already rumors of upcoming devices specifically aimed at ending Microsoft’s monopoly in the hybrid category. One such device is the Dell XPS 12, rumors of which have been doing rounds for quite a while.

Moreover, details of the upcoming XPS 12 hybrid along with high-res shots have appeared online giving us a better idea as to what the device has in store. Looking at the images, Dell’s upcoming hybrid clearly takes inspiration from Microsoft’s Surface range, featuring a magnesium alloy body.

At 12.5 inches, it is said to be the first display of that size to get a 4K Ultra HD resolution, while there are also rumors that Dell might offer an optional Full HD screen only. Under the hood, the hybrid will reportedly feature Intel’s latest Core M Skylake processors, and might come with options among 4GB and 8GB of RAM. Optics on the device are said to be an 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP front cam.

Other notable features include two Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C ports along with one HDMI port. It also comes with a card reader and LTE compatible SIM slot. Other network features include your standard WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition, there’ll be two optional keyboards that include a 1.3mm one, and one full key version.

The device is expected to be unveiled later this month at ‘Dell World 2015’ that’ll be held in Austin, Texas.

Meanwhile, more information about pricing and specs of refreshed Dell XPS 13 have also surfaced online. German tech blog Winfuture.de claims it has managed to get some interesting details about the upcoming XPS 13 notebooks.

Refreshed version of XPS 13 featuring Infinity Edge display

The notebook is expected to feature 13-inch edge-to-edge infinity display with a 5.2-mm border, in 3200×1800 touch or Full HD non-touch options. Innards on the device get a significant upgrade to Intel’s latest Skylake processors, with options starting with Skylake Core i3 up to Core i7, all of which will be bundled with Intel HD 520 GPU.

In terms of memory, the new XPS 13 will come in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB RAM options while internal storage options start at 128GB followed by 256GB, 512GB and ITB SSD options. The device is also said to feature two USB 3.0 ports along with an additional USB Type-C connector and Thunderbolt 3.
