Building upon the success of the previous year, Facebook has again bagged the top spot for the highest downloaded app, also accounting for the largest number of users in 2015.
With over 10 million downloads on both Android and iOS, the popular live video sharing platform has been dubbed as App of the year on iTunes. Released back in March 26, Periscope’s user base has rapidly expanding with analysts suggesting that over 40 years of video are being viewed on a daily basis.
The all in one mobile photography app has an average user rating of 4.5 on both iOS and Android. The app has been seen 1.5 million downloads, reaching topping charts as the No.1 paid app in over 120 countries including the UK, Canada, Australia, Greece, China, Japan along with France.
The airfare predictions app has seen over 1.5 million downloads on the App Store since its launch back in January this year. While, its Android version has surpassed over 230000 downloads on the Play store. Hopper gets an average user rating of 4.5 out 5 on iTunes, while on the PlayStore it gets a 4-star rating.
Hopper now consistently makes the top 20 apps in the travel category, at times also making the top 5 putting it against the likes of Airbnb, Uber and Lyft.
#5 Z Camera
A photography app coming out of China, Z Camera allows users to share photos and videos on popular networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others. The app was released on the Google Play store in February, and since has seen more than 8.5 million downloads.
Z Camera has also been named as the best photography app of the year on the PlayStore in around 75 countries, and gets 4.5 out of 5 stars rating.
