Microsoft is set to launch a new version of its Xbox Series X console later this year, featuring a sleek all-digital design and a significant storage upgrade. The refreshed console, codenamed “Brooklin,” will introduce a range of enhancements aimed at providing a more efficient and streamlined gaming experience.
Key Features and Specifications
Storage and Design: The standout feature of the new Xbox Series X is its 2TB internal storage, doubling the capacity of the current model. This increase in storage is crucial for gamers who frequently switch between multiple games and require more space for game installations and updates. The console will also have a new cylindrical design, omitting the disc drive entirely, which aligns with Microsoft’s push towards a digital-only future for its gaming ecosystem.

Connectivity:
The 2024 refresh includes support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. These upgrades will improve wireless connectivity, offering faster download speeds, lower latency, and better overall performance. The addition of Bluetooth 5.2 is particularly notable as it allows for the connection of Bluetooth peripherals, a first for Xbox consoles.
Controller:
The new Xbox Series X will come with an updated controller, codenamed “Sebile.” This controller features modular thumbsticks, improved haptic feedback, and a rechargeable battery. It also supports direct-to-cloud connectivity, allowing for seamless gameplay over Xbox Cloud Gaming, reducing latency and enhancing the gaming experience.
