One of the most trending tech companies during August has to be Motorola (NASDAQ: MSI) with the refresh of the Moto G and X line, as well as adding yet another two player to the game, the Moto X Style and Play. The Style constitutes the flagship of the line-up that will essentially rival Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone 6s and Samsung’s (NASDAQ: SSNLF) Galaxy S6.
The latter, though, named Play, is something between the two ends, so more or less it belongs to the mid-range market.
Also, the phone maker has just announced that the Play is now available on the Motorola UK website for 279 pounds off-contract.
Despite being a mid-range device, the handset does pack some serious specs including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon housing four cores clocked at 1.7GHz along with Adreno 405 GPU and 3 gigs of RAM. The handset also features a stellar full HD 5.5-inch display with a 403 ppi pixel density covered by corning Gorilla Glass 3.

In terms of cameras, a whopping 21 megapixel primary sensor has been placed on the back, shooting full HD video and offering auto-HDR, face detection, and other tweaks; while a 5 megapixel secondary one can be located on the front.
Storage wise, the device comes in two editions; a 16GB and a 32GB one.

The first costs 279 pounds while the 32 gigs one will set you back an extra fee of $40, though both come with a microSD port, thus expanding your storage up to 128 GB. The marquee feature of the Play though is its battery, which is a 3630 mAh brick that will run the juice for a really long time.
Like the two previous generations, so the iteration of Moto Xs will be customizable allowing customers to change the front and rear panel accent color or even engrave your very own message on the back of the handset. The stock color options of the Play will be black and white. What about the X Style though? According to Motorola, the premium model of the Moto family is due for release this September in the UK with more European countries to follow.
