Dell’s highly applauded XPS range now gets a refresh, as the XPS 13 and XPS 15 now pack more powerful processors and storage capacity into their super thin frame. In addition, the company has also unveiled the much-hyped Surface Pro rival the Dell XPS 12 hybrid.
Let’s start off with the upgraded XPS notebooks, which thankfully still retain the same aesthetically gorgeous design aesthetics. Both the XPS 13 and XPS 15 look quite stunning sporting a carbon fibre and aluminum chassis. Another notable upgrade on the duo is the InfinityEdge display, which essentially shrinks the bezel around the screen substantially making it more or less invisible.
Design aesthetics aside, most of the changes are under the hood. Both devices feature Intel’s 6th-gen Core i processors (codename ‘Skylake’), along with memory options to upgrade up to 16GB of RAM along with 1TB of SSD storage.
The Dell XPS 15 also comes with Full HD and 4K screen resolution options along with the option to choose among Intel’s sixth-gen Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Users can also upgrade to up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, though at the launch it’ll be limited to 16GB at the max. Moreover, the company has also bundled an optional nVidia GDDR5 GPU, which the company says makes it an all-purpose notebook.

While, its smaller sibling the XPS 13 apparently is the smallest 13-inch laptop around and also gets the latest Skylake processors with similar storage and memory upgrades found on the XPS 15.
Both devices will come with Thunderbolt 3, which use the same Type-C connectors as USB 3.1. Dell claims the XPS 13 can last for 18 hours on a single charge, while the XPS 15 can get up to 16 hours of battery life depending upon the model.

Apart from the duo, the company has also announced the new XPS 12 hybrid, which many assume can be pitted against Microsoft’s Surface Pro range. The company says that it has worked diligently on XPS 12’s keyboard, which according to them forms one of the core experiences of a hybrid device. Dell says that keyboard has a full layout design with a 1.9mm travel between the keys, and also features a precision touchpad.

As far pricing and availability goes, the XPS 13 starts at $799 while the larger XPS 15 has been priced at $999 which can now be ordered. However, the XPS 12 hybrid will be arriving in mid-November starting at $999.
