Overview

Users can create an alias and send and receive messages without providing personal information. The service says transient mail is automatically deleted, and its one-time-email guide says addresses and related communications are usually erased after 24 hours. The separate inbox-lifespan figure is minutes, so users should not count on a message being retained for a full day.

Attachment access is useful when a disposable address receives a file: messages can include attachments, which users can download before expiry. That convenience does not change the privacy trade-off. Public temporary addresses are not appropriate for sensitive or financial information, and inbox protection is marked as none.

Key features

No-registration inboxes: Generate a temporary mailbox without signing up or sharing personal details, a good fit for low-stakes sign-ups.
Custom aliases: Choose a unique alias rather than accepting a default address.
Sending and receiving: The service supports both directions, rather than limiting the inbox to receiving messages.
Attachments: Receive and download files before the email expires.
Developer API: Documentation covers domains, creating, updating, and deleting emails, retrieving messages, and downloading attachments. However, the API-key feature is under development, and the product access summary says API access is unavailable. That makes it a poor choice for a production integration that depends on working API credentials.
Premium domains and storage: Premium users can choose 1secmail.cc, 1secmail.website, and 1secmail.live; the Premium page advertises 100MB extended storage, no ads, and premium support.

Pricing

1SecMail has a free plan and paid options billed monthly or yearly. The free tier costs $0.00 USD per free and includes 3 own domains, 3 inbox records, 3 saved messages, premium support, attachment viewing, and premium domains. Those small record and message allowances suit occasional use, but constrain users managing multiple inboxes.

Standard costs $4.99 USD per month and raises the allowances to 5 own domains, 30 inbox records, and 30 saved messages. Premium costs $9.99 USD per month, with 10 own domains, 50 inbox records, and 50 saved messages. Both include premium support, attachment viewing, and premium domains. These tiers make sense for users who need more room than the free caps allow; the listed benefits do not establish a longer inbox lifetime.

Gold costs $35.99 USD per year and includes 20 own domains, 500 inbox records, and 500 saved messages, alongside support, attachment viewing, and premium domains. Diamond costs $45.98 USD per year and makes own domains, inbox records, and saved messages unlimited, with the same other benefits. The annual tiers are aimed at heavier use, with Diamond removing the stated quantity caps.

Pro API Key costs $10.00 USD per month for unlimited requests subject to a fair usage policy, faster response times, private API key access, and developer-oriented access. Because the API-key feature is under development, developers should not treat the plan as a ready integration path. No seat limits or trial terms are stated for these plans.

Platforms

1SecMail is offered on the web and Android, with a Chrome Web Store extension for quick access. API is also among its listed platforms, but the under-development API-key feature limits its present appeal for production use. The breadth is useful for individuals moving between browser and mobile access, while teams should verify their integration needs before committing.

Who it's for

Choose 1SecMail for routine, low-risk registrations where a temporary address helps avoid sharing a primary inbox. It is also a reasonable option when attachment downloads or custom aliases matter. It is not a fit for financial, sensitive, or account-recovery email, or for builders who need dependable API-key access now.

Pros and cons

Pro: No-registration inbox creation avoids handing over personal information for disposable use.
Pro: Sending, receiving, custom aliases, and attachment downloads make it more flexible than a receive-only throwaway inbox.
Pro: Paid plans raise inbox and saved-message caps, with annual Gold and Diamond tiers for higher-volume use.
Con: Public temporary addresses have no inbox protection and are explicitly unsuitable for sensitive or financial information.
Con: Mail retention is uncertain in practice: communications are usually erased after 24 hours, while the inbox lifespan is also given as minutes.
Con: The API-key feature is under development, undermining the value of an API-focused paid plan for immediate integration.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Temporary Email Services.

NowTempMail: Consider it when a receive-only inbox with 24-hour retention and a 50-message cap is sufficient, or when a free developer API is a better fit.
TempMaily: Consider it for a web/API option with one shared-domain address at a time and 24-hour deletion, or if its annual premium plan suits your budget.
EmailOnDeck: Consider it if you want private emails and securely wiped logs in a free, ad-supported offering with one email at a time.
Mail.cx: Consider it for a free web inbox with one-hour retention, or its annual Pro plan when custom domains and API access are priorities.
SecureTempMail: Consider it when longer retention, private domains, attachment downloads, and inbox history or search matter; its Premium plan is $39.00 USD per year.
Temp-Mail.org: Consider it for mobile and web access with free domains and receive-only mail retained up to 1–2 hours, or its $10.00 USD monthly premium option.
TemporaryEmail.dev: Consider it for a paid developer-oriented setup: Starter is $9.00 EUR per month for 25 inboxes, 2,000 emails per month, one custom domain, and seven-day retention.
Guerrilla Mail: Consider it if you need a custom domain you own for $9.99 USD per year.

Verdict

1SecMail is best for individuals who need a disposable address for ordinary sign-ups and want alias choice, two-way email, and attachment access without registration. Its paid tiers add room for more inboxes and saved messages, but short or unclear retention and the lack of inbox protection rule it out for consequential mail. Developers should look elsewhere until API-key access is ready.
