Overview

ABC Trainerize combines fitness programming with the client-management tasks around it: communication, scheduling, progress tracking, and payments. It is a strong fit for trainers who want mobile apps and coaching workflows in one platform, but client-seat caps make the entry tiers suitable only for very small rosters.

Its free Basic plan is useful for a single-client setup, while paid plans add capacity and plan-dependent messaging options. Coaches running larger practices should compare the Pro seat range and Studio Plus scale with their actual roster before committing.

Key features

Programming and client management

Workout programs and delivery are paired with a client portal, goals and progress tools, forms, and assessments. That makes Trainerize more than a workout log: it supports a continuing coaching relationship. The trade-off is that capacity is tightly tied to the plan—Basic includes one client seat and Grow two, while Pro supports 5 to 200 clients.

Communication, scheduling, and coaching

In-app messaging comes in basic and advanced options depending on plan, so teams should check that their preferred communication setup is included. Scheduling covers appointments, classes, and calendar sync; video coaching supports live and on-demand classes and virtual sessions. Group coaching and class scheduling broaden its fit beyond one-to-one training.

Payments and integrations

Integrated payment processing and Stripe integration keep billing connected to the coaching workflow. Grow includes integrations with client apps and wearables, and wearable sync is supported. These features matter most to coaches who want payments and client activity alongside their programming, rather than assembling separate tools.

Pricing

Trainerize uses a freemium model, with prices in USD that may be subject to applicable taxes. Basic is free and includes one client seat. It is a practical starting point for a solo trainer with one client, but its cap rules it out for a growing roster.

Grow costs $9.00 USD per month and includes two client seats. It keeps the monthly entry cost low for a trainer managing a pair of clients, but offers little room to expand. Pro costs $23.00 USD per month and supports 5 to 200 clients; it is the more suitable stated option once a coach needs a larger roster. Studio Plus is $248.00 USD per month, with custom pricing for each location added, 5+ locations, and capacity of 500 to 1,000+ client seats. That tier targets multi-location operations rather than independent coaches.

A 30-day free trial requires no credit card and includes unlimited clients, giving teams room to evaluate a larger roster before choosing a paid tier. Annual plans are billed once per year.

Platforms

Trainerize has mobile apps for iOS and Android. This is a good match for coaches whose clients need mobile access alongside a portal, scheduling, and messaging.

Who it's for

Choose Trainerize if you coach clients through structured programs and also need scheduling, communication, progress tools, and payment processing in the same service. The free and Grow tiers suit very small client lists; Pro is the clearer fit for coaches with five or more clients. Look elsewhere if your roster does not fit the stated seat ranges or if your business needs messaging options not included in the plan you choose.

Pros and cons

Broad coaching workflow: Workout delivery, progress tools, forms, scheduling, messaging, and payments cover more than exercise tracking alone.
Mobile reach: iOS and Android apps support client access on both major mobile platforms.
Low-cost starting tiers: A free plan and a $9.00 USD per month Grow tier give small practices a low-cost way to begin.
Tight entry-tier capacity: Basic allows one client seat and Grow two, so a modestly expanding roster can require a plan change.
Plan-dependent messaging: Basic and advanced in-app messaging vary by plan, making plan fit important for communication-heavy coaching.

Alternatives

Everfit is worth comparing if a free plan for up to five clients is a better starting point; its Pro plan is $16.00 USD per month, with pricing varying by client count.

FitSW suits trainers looking for fitness-program creation and automation with client exercise-progress tracking; its Premium for Trainers plan is $16.66 USD per month, with a selectable limit from 5 to 1,000 clients.

My PT Hub is another option for coaches considering a service with a free trial and a Starter plan that includes three clients, 50 workouts, and 50 nutrition plans at $22.50 USD per month when billed annually and paid monthly.

Coach.me, Coachable, Delivvo, Faronto, and Grix are additional alternatives to compare.

Verdict

ABC Trainerize is a good choice for trainers who want programming, client communication, scheduling, and billing coordinated with iOS and Android apps. Its breadth is the main reason to choose it; the decisive reason to look elsewhere is roster size, since the free and $9.00 USD per month tiers cap out at one and two clients respectively.
