Overview

AgilePoint NX is a low-code platform for coordinating enterprise applications, workflows and AI. It is best suited to teams managing complex processes across established systems; smaller projects may find its seat and core minimums a poor fit.

Its visual, model-driven composition works alongside pro-code support, and its deployment options span SaaS, private cloud and on-premises. AgilePoint was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Mountain View, California.

Key features

Workflows that can change in flight

Teams can roll back, skip, suspend or resume work, split or merge paths, rework part of a process, and migrate in-flight work without redeployment or recompilation. That flexibility is valuable for operations where a process must adapt after it has started; it is more capability than a team needs for straightforward form-and-approval apps.

Connectors and reusable assets

AgilePoint lists more than 1,200 reusable capability assets spanning over 120 systems and internally built assets. Its integration catalog includes Salesforce, SAP, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, UiPath, OpenAI, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and AWS services. This breadth is a strong fit for orchestration across a varied enterprise stack, though the listed connectors do not by themselves establish how any particular integration will fit a team's setup.

AI generation, agents and governance

NX v10 can generate application experiences from images, PDFs, mockups, documents and external data sources. Its MCP Server lets compatible AI agents trigger workflows without custom integration code. The AI Control Tower supports public and private model strategies with governance, observability and control over AI-driven process behavior. Field-level encryption with customer-managed keys and API key management add security controls for sensitive data and external tools. AgilePoint is pursuing ISO 42001 certification; that is not the same as certification.

Pricing

AgilePoint uses a freemium model, with paid plans from $39/user/mo and a 30-day trial. The Community Edition has no published price, supports up to 25 named users and two applications, and includes community-based support. Its caps make it a limited starting point rather than an enterprise-wide rollout.

Standard Edition costs 39.00 USD per month per named user, with a 50-seat minimum. It includes core connectors, SSO, public or private cloud or on-premises deployment, and standard 9–5 support. That is the entry paid tier, but the minimum commitment makes it difficult to justify for a small team.

Professional Edition costs 195.00 USD per month per DCA seat, or $59 per named seat, with a minimum of 35 seats. DCA seats are shared at a stated 10–25× ratio. The plan adds advanced connectors, Mobile App Builder and Analytic Center, plus public or private cloud or on-premises deployment; optional 24/7 support is available. Its shared-seat model may suit variable usage, while named seats offer a simpler per-person basis.

Enterprise Edition costs 19950.00 USD per month per production CPU core, with a two-core minimum. It includes unlimited managed users, advanced connectors and clustering, two non-production environments, and hybrid private cloud and on-premises deployment; optional 24/7 support is available. This is the tier for broad, core-based rollouts, not a way for a small group to avoid per-user charges.

Dynamic Concurrent Access starts at 195.00 USD per month per seat, with volume discounts; seats are shared across people and AI agents, with each serving 10–25 users on average. Anonymous External Users use usage-based licensing, require no seat allocation, and have no published price. A separately named Named User Seat costs 39.00 USD per month, with a 50-seat minimum and one identity per perpetual seat. Match the licensing basis to who uses the system and how: the user, DCA and core options have materially different minimums and units.

Platforms

AgilePoint supports web, Android, iOS and Windows, alongside API access and self-hosting. Hybrid deployment is supported, with SaaS, private cloud and on-premises options also offered. That range helps teams with mixed infrastructure requirements, but deployment flexibility does not remove the edition-specific seat or core minimums.

Who it's for

AgilePoint NX is strongest for enterprises that need governed process orchestration across many systems, runtime workflow changes, and room to combine visual composition with pro-code work. Community Edition offers a constrained route for up to 25 named users. Teams seeking a small, inexpensive app builder or needing only simple workflows should compare the minimum seats and cores against their actual scope before committing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Runtime changes, including in-flight migration, let teams alter processes without redeployment or recompilation.
Pro: More than 1,200 reusable assets and integrations spanning over 120 systems support work across a broad enterprise stack.
Pro: MCP support and AI governance combine agent-triggered workflows with oversight of AI-driven process behavior.
Con: Standard's 50-seat minimum and Professional's 35-seat minimum can make paid entry costly for smaller teams.
Con: Enterprise charges per production CPU core and requires at least two, so user count alone will not reveal its cost.
Con: Community Edition is limited to 25 named users and two applications, which constrains its use as a growing production platform.

Alternatives

For a lighter cloud app-building starting point, ToolJet has a free cloud plan with two builders, 50 end users, two apps and 100 AI credits per month. Alpha Anywhere offers a free developer edition for web and mobile development, with connections to any data source and unlimited apps, making it an option for development without AgilePoint's stated enterprise licensing minimums.

Budibase is another freemium alternative; Convertigo offers a freemium model with a Community Edition; Draftbit has a free tier; Protogrid offers a free Evaluation plan; Retool has a free plan and a Team tier at 10.00 USD per month per builder and 5.00 USD per month per internal user; and Anvil has a free plan. Choose among them based on the product and pricing details relevant to your requirements.

Verdict

Choose AgilePoint NX when enterprise processes need to span systems, adapt at runtime and incorporate AI under governance. Its combination of connectors, workflow flexibility and deployment options is compelling for that job. Look elsewhere if your project is small or simple: the seat and CPU-core minimums can outweigh the platform's breadth.
