Overview

AKOOL brings AI video and image creation, avatar tools, translation, and face swapping together with APIs and a hub for video and image models. It suits creators and teams making personalized visual content, especially those who want to build generation into software workflows. Its range is a strength, but the free plan’s storage and avatar-video limits make it a better fit for trials and small projects than ongoing production.

Key features

AKOOL covers image and video generation, talking photos, avatar video, face swaps, background changes, and video translation. Custom and interactive avatars and voice cloning extend its options for personalized content; the maximum video resolution is 4K. That breadth can serve marketing teams working across several visual formats, but the plan caps on storage, duration, and concurrent generations still shape what teams can produce.

The Model Hub provides access to Seedance, Kling, Wan, and other video and image models. Developers can use APIs for face swap, video translation, talking photos and avatars, streaming avatars, image generation, and content moderation, with documentation, GitHub, and Postman linked from the API page. This makes AKOOL relevant to teams embedding visual generation in a product or workflow. Zapier is marked as coming soon, so teams depending on that integration should not treat it as a current option.

AKOOL says it encrypts data in transit and at rest, applies access controls and authentication, monitors continuously, and vets third-party vendors. It lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001, and GDPR compliance. Its moderation approach combines multilingual moderation with human review of flagged or complex cases and user reporting tools. Those controls matter for teams handling user-facing content, though they do not replace a review of fit with a particular organization’s requirements.

Pricing

The Free plan is $0.00 USD per free. It includes 5 GB of storage, avatar video up to 720P and 10 minutes, five minutes each for streaming sessions and live face swap, and five TTS uses of up to 1,000 characters each. Those caps make it useful for evaluating the tools or producing limited content, but restrictive for regular avatar or streaming work.

The Pricing page shows Starter, Pro, Pro Max, and Business at $0 /seat /mo under its Yearly selector. The monthly price is not available in that view, so these figures do not establish a monthly rate. The tiers increase concurrency and maximum video length: Starter allows two concurrent video and four concurrent image generations and videos up to 15 minutes; Pro allows six and eight, respectively, with a 30-minute maximum; Pro Max allows eight and eight, with a 45-minute maximum; Business allows 20 and 24, with a 60-minute maximum. Paid-tier credits are monthly. These capacities distinguish the plans for teams working with more simultaneous generations or longer video, but the listed figures alone do not establish the credit volume each tier provides.

Enterprise has custom pricing and customized yearly plans, with SSO login, dedicated server resources, a dedicated customer success manager, customized solutions, and enterprise-grade security and privacy. Its credits do not expire, unlike the monthly credits on paid tiers. That makes it the tier to consider for organizations needing dedicated resources or SSO rather than a published self-serve rate.

Platforms

AKOOL is available on the web, macOS, Windows, and through an API. The combination suits teams that need both a visual creation service and programmatic access.

Who it's for

AKOOL is a strong candidate for marketing teams and developers producing personalized video or image content across avatars, translation, and face-swap use cases. The API breadth is particularly relevant when those capabilities need to sit inside an existing product or workflow. It is less compelling for teams whose requirements depend on generous free storage or whose preferred integration is Zapier today.

Pros and cons

Broad visual toolkit: Generation, avatars, translation, face swapping, and background changes sit within one platform, useful for teams working across content formats.
Developer coverage: APIs span several creation and moderation functions, with documentation, GitHub, and Postman linked for implementation work.
Enterprise controls: SSO, dedicated resources, and non-expiring credits are included in the Enterprise plan, though its price is custom.
Free-plan constraints: Storage is capped at 5 GB, and avatar video at 720P and 10 minutes, limiting sustained or higher-resolution avatar production on the free tier.
Integration gap: Zapier is marked as coming soon, so teams needing that connection will need another approach for now.

Alternatives

For a narrower avatar-video choice, HeyGen offers a free plan capped at three videos per month and one minute per video. Choose it if that defined allowance fits better than AKOOL’s broader mix of tools.

bitHuman is an alternative for teams comparing cloud sessions, avatar allowances, and use on their own hardware: its Creator plan is $20.00 USD per month and includes three concurrent cloud sessions, 2,000 monthly credits, up to seven avatars, and hardware or cloud minutes.

Captions is worth comparing if a monthly plan built around AI editing and video creation fits the workflow: its Max plan is $24.99 USD per month and includes 500 credits, AI Edit styles, AI video creation, and digital twins or custom AI actors.

Hedra offers a monthly credit-based alternative: its Basic plan is $20.00 USD per month with 2,000 credits and commercial use, while Pro is $50.00 USD per month with 7,200 credits.

Tavus is a focused alternative for API-based voice and video calls; its free plan includes 15 minutes of calls and support for more than 30 languages.

AI Studios offers a free plan with three one-minute videos, one custom avatar, 720p export, and 16 one-time generative credits, a fit for users whose initial needs match those limits.

Colossyan provides a free Starter plan with 20 minutes per month using NEO, 15 custom avatars, three voices, and one editor, useful to compare for a defined monthly video allowance.

Creatify is an alternative centered on ads, with a free plan that includes 10 monthly credits, up to two video ads, 20 image ads, and 40 ad templates.

Verdict

Choose AKOOL if your team needs a broad set of avatar, image, and video tools alongside APIs for embedding creation and moderation workflows. The main reason to look elsewhere is practical capacity: the free tier is tightly capped, Zapier is not yet available, and the self-serve paid prices appear only under the yearly selector.
