Overview

Kickresume is a resume and cover-letter builder with AI drafting, ATS review, and career-planning tools. It is best suited to job seekers who want to manage application documents and career exploration in one service, rather than use a dedicated writing tool alone. Its free tier supports unlimited downloads, while Premium is the step up for broader templates, imports, and the full toolkit.

Key features

Drafting and templates

AI Writer can generate a resume from a job title and the job ad being answered, giving applicants a tailored starting point instead of a blank page. Free users get four basic resume templates and four matching cover-letter templates; Premium expands both selections to more than 40 and adds seven personal website templates. That makes the free plan workable for applicants content with a small set of designs, but not for those who want to compare many visual treatments.

ATS review and career planning

The ATS Resume Checker helps optimize resumes for applicant tracking systems and compares them with successful resumes in Kickresume’s database. Career Map scans a resume and suggests paths based on the user’s skills and experience. These tools broaden Kickresume beyond document production, though the value is strongest for job seekers who want guidance alongside drafting rather than a simple template editor.

Imports, exports, and mobile

Premium includes LinkedIn and PDF import, which can reduce the work of starting from an existing profile or document. Kickresume supports iOS, Android, and web; its mobile apps sync documents with desktop through the cloud. Downloads are not a free-tier bottleneck: Free includes unlimited downloads, with PDF, Word text export, email, Dropbox, and Google Drive among the output options. Documents can also be saved to Dropbox or Google Drive.

Privacy and support

Kickresume says it does not share user data with third parties without permission. It is based in the EU and hosts data in the European Union, citing GDPR protections; its infrastructure also receives regular penetration testing from an unnamed IT security company. Paid plans include priority email and chat support. Students and teachers can receive Premium free after verifying status with ISIC, ITIC, or UNiDAYS.

Pricing

Kickresume is freemium, with no free trial. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes four basic resume templates, four matching cover-letter templates, one basic website template, 20,000 pre-written phrases, 1,500+ resume examples, and unlimited downloads. It is a practical option for occasional applicants who can work within the smaller template selection, but it does not include the Premium features and imports.

Premium includes 40+ resume templates, 40+ cover-letter templates, seven website templates, AI Writer, ATS Resume Checker, Career Map, LinkedIn and PDF import, iOS and Android access, and priority email and chat support. The listed USD options are 24.00 USD per month, billed monthly; 18.00 USD per month, billed as $54 every 3 months; or 8.00 USD per month, billed as $96 every 12 months. The annual option has the lowest monthly equivalent but requires paying the full year upfront; the monthly plan costs more for flexibility.

EUR prices are also given: 24.00 EUR per month for Monthly, 18.00 EUR per month billed as €54 every 3 months for Quarterly, and 8.00 EUR per year billed as €96 every 12 months for Yearly. The yearly amount and billing total do not align, so confirm the applicable charge before subscribing.

For a one-off human review, Grammar Correction costs 30.00 USD per once, billed at $30 per resume. Professional proofreaders correct typos, grammar, and word order, with delivery in two work days or less. This is a focused add-on for applicants seeking editorial correction, not a substitute for Premium’s broader toolkit.

Platforms

Kickresume runs on web, iOS, and Android. Cloud syncing connects mobile documents with desktop, making it suitable for applicants who want to work across devices without giving up a browser-based workflow.

Who it's for

Kickresume is a strong fit for job seekers who want resume and cover-letter creation, ATS-oriented feedback, career suggestions, and document export in one place. Its unlimited free downloads make it more useful than a design-only free tier for applicants who need finished documents without recurring costs. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a narrow, highly tailored writing workflow or a large set of templates without subscribing.

Pros and cons

Useful free output: Unlimited downloads and 20,000 pre-written phrases make the free tier usable for real applications, despite its four-template limit in each document category.
More than a builder: ATS review and Career Map add application and career guidance beyond formatting.
Mobile continuity: iOS and Android apps sync with desktop through the cloud.
Premium unlocks several practical tools: LinkedIn and PDF import, larger template libraries, and priority support are bundled with the paid plans.
Annual commitment matters: The lowest monthly equivalent is billed as $96 every 12 months, so it suits users ready to commit rather than those testing a short-term need.
Pricing currencies need care: The EUR yearly price is stated as 8.00 EUR per year while its billing amount is €96 every 12 months.

FlowCV may suit applicants who only need one resume and one cover letter for free, or who prefer a listed Pro price of 5.00 USD per month billed yearly for unlimited resumes and cover letters.

Verdict

Choose Kickresume if you want a single service for drafting application documents, checking them against ATS considerations, exploring career paths, and exporting without a free-download cap. The main reason to look elsewhere is the limited free template choice or the cost and upfront commitment required to get Premium’s wider selection and import tools. For a job seeker who values breadth over a specialized single-purpose workflow, it is a well-rounded choice.
