Overview

IntelliAssess creates exams, quizzes and talent assessments, with tools to organize questionnaire sections and schedule testing windows. It pairs that authoring workflow with AI grading, LMS publishing and exam security controls, so it suits teams that need more than a standalone quiz generator.

Document uploads can be turned into questions mapped to the supplied material. Users can upload up to 20 files at once and generate as many as 100 questions. The question generator supports up to eight question types depending on plan, including multiple choice, multi-select, true/false, short answer, fill-in-the-blanks and essay-style questions. That range supports varied assessments, though plan-dependent formats mean buyers should confirm their required question types against their chosen tier.

Key features

Proctoring combines webcam face verification, audio analysis and browser monitoring. Browser controls can restrict copy and paste, detect window changes and flag tab navigation; browser lockdown can also disable print screen, second monitors and new tabs. These controls suit exams where basic browser restrictions and monitoring matter, but the stated feature set does not establish that every form of misconduct can be prevented.

AI grading aligns evaluations with instructor rubrics and uploaded course materials, while instructors can override marks or comments. That combination offers a reviewable grading workflow rather than treating AI output as final. IntelliAssess also supports personal API credentials for OpenAI, Groq and Gemini through BYOK mode, giving teams a choice of supported providers.

It advertises LMS and API integrations, Google Classroom publishing and LMS export. Security measures include TLS 1.3 encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Proctoring images, event warnings and device logs are automatically deleted after 90 days; backups are retained for up to 30 days. Support replies within 24 hours, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM PST.

Pricing

IntelliAssess is freemium, with paid plans starting at $39/mo. The monthly quotas vary not only by plan but also by AI provider, so teams should estimate the provider they expect to use as well as their student count.

Plan	Price	Limits and fit
Free	0.00 USD per month (billed $0 /month)	Up to 25 students; approximately 20 OpenAI, 10 Gemini or 10 Groq questions per billing period; standard email support. A useful small-scale starting point, but its question quota is restrictive for regular assessment cycles.
Starter	39.00 USD per month (billed $39 /month)	Up to 200 students; approximately 700 OpenAI, 200 Gemini or 600 Groq questions per billing period; approximately 200 proctoring/exam-security credits. It raises student capacity substantially, although Gemini generation remains comparatively limited.
Pro	99.00 USD per month (billed $99 /month)	Up to 500 students; approximately 2,800 OpenAI, 2,400 Gemini or 800 Groq questions per billing period; approximately 400 proctoring/exam-security credits. This is the more balanced tier for larger cohorts, with a notable provider-dependent spread in question volume.
Intense	249.00 USD per month (billed $249 /month)	Up to 2,000 students; approximately 8,000 OpenAI, 7,000 Gemini or 3,000 Groq questions per billing period; 1,200 webcam-proctoring credits. It is aimed at high-volume programs, but teams should account for the finite proctoring-credit pool.

The free plan offers a low-risk way to assess the workflow, but its 25-student ceiling and small question allowance make it unsuitable for sustained use at scale. Starter is the least expensive paid option for modest cohorts; larger programs get materially higher student, generation and proctoring limits on Pro and Intense. Each paid plan is priced monthly as shown.

Platforms

IntelliAssess is a web platform. Its LMS and API integrations, Google Classroom publishing and LMS export make it relevant to teams working in an existing learning stack, while BYOK supports OpenAI, Groq and Gemini credentials.

Who it's for

Teachers, schools, universities, HR and training teams, certification programs, language schools and e-learning platforms are all identified use cases. It is the strongest fit for organizations that need document-grounded assessment, rubric-aligned grading and exam controls in one workflow. A team seeking only occasional, low-volume quiz generation may find its broader proctoring setup and tier quotas more than it needs.

Pros and cons

Pros: Document uploads can drive questions tied to course materials, supporting assessments grounded in the content learners were assigned.
Pros: Webcam, audio and browser controls provide several layers of exam monitoring and restriction.
Pros: Instructors can override AI grading, keeping human review in the assessment process.
Pros: LMS/API options, Google Classroom publishing and LMS export support integration into existing workflows.
Cons: Student, generation and proctoring quotas differ by plan, so growing programs must budget for tier changes and monitor usage.
Cons: Question allowances vary substantially by AI provider, making a plan's headline capacity an unreliable guide unless the team accounts for its intended provider.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of this category, see AI Quiz Generators.

PDFQuiz is worth considering when document-to-quiz conversion is the priority: its free access permits 10 questions without an account or three 10-question quizzes with an account, with up to 20 document pages per quiz.
QuizFlight is an alternative for teams that want Android and iOS alongside web and API access; its free first session supports up to 20 participants, then up to five.
Quizbot may suit a lighter study workflow: its free plan allows 50 questions per month, one notebook and up to two sources.
BrushUpIQ is a lower-complexity web option if five monthly generations and multiple-choice-only quizzes meet the need; its free plan caps documents at 2 MB.
QuizFlex AI is another web-based freemium option, with paid Plus and Elite tiers for users seeking voice notes and transcription or monthly credits.
Quizzen may work for occasional PDF quizzes: its free plan allows three quizzes every 30 days, with 10 questions each and PDFs up to 20 pages.
Revisely is a web alternative with a free Basic plan and no subscription required, including five pages per document upload.
AutoQuiz.AI is an alternative for users who want homework assignments and live quiz sessions; its free plan provides three AI quiz-generation credits.

Verdict

IntelliAssess is a strong choice for education, training and certification teams that need AI authoring, human-reviewable grading and exam security in a web-based workflow. Its integrated controls and LMS options are the main reasons to choose it; teams should look elsewhere if they need only inexpensive, occasional quiz generation or cannot work within provider-specific quotas and proctoring credits.
