Overview

Autorun Organizer is a Windows utility for reviewing and controlling programs that launch at startup. It is best suited to people who want batch controls and boot-time context alongside startup checks, rather than a bare on/off switch. Its broad toolkit is free, but the data-transfer option deserves a deliberate privacy decision.

Key features

Startup control and context

You can enable or disable autorun entries, remove them, or suspend their launches. Batch processing and automatic control of disabled records make it more useful when working through several entries than when making a single change. A rating based on how often entries are disabled or deleted, together with a visual Windows boot-time diagram, gives users additional context for reviewing startup behavior. Those signals can inform decisions, but do not establish whether an entry is necessary on a particular PC.

Inspection and monitoring

VirusTotal checks startup programs through a service the product describes as covering more than 60 antivirus programs. New auto-start entry notifications, quick search, and erroneous-record detection add ongoing oversight; the utility can also update itself to newer versions. The inspection features broaden the tool beyond startup editing, but their data handling matters: with the installer’s data-transfer option enabled, a list of applications is sent to a server to display disabling and delaying frequency, while autorun applications, paths, and locations are sent for VirusTotal analysis.

Pricing

Autorun Organizer is free: both the Free plan and the Autorun Organizer plan cost 0.00 USD per free. The Free plan includes startup entry management, startup delay controls, and VirusTotal scanning. The Autorun Organizer plan specifies Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7 in 32-bit or 64-bit form. There is no paid tier or seat-based pricing to weigh against those capabilities.

The license agreement allows free distribution as long as the distribution package is not modified. Users should still consider the data-transfer choice before enabling those functions; questions about the privacy policy or license agreement can be directed to support@chemtable.com.

Platforms

Autorun Organizer runs on Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Requirements are at least 256 MB of RAM, 50 MB of disk space, and administrator rights. That makes the stated resource requirements modest, but it is not an option for teams managing startup behavior on non-Windows systems.

Who it's for

This is a practical fit for Windows users who want to review several startup entries, see boot-time context, and check entries through VirusTotal without adding a software cost. It is less suitable for users who do not want application and autorun data transferred when those features are enabled, or for organizations seeking a cross-platform startup-management tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: Free startup management includes disabling, removal, launch suspension, and batch handling, so users can choose more than a simple toggle.
Pros: A boot-time diagram, entry-frequency rating, and VirusTotal checks add context and inspection options to startup review.
Pros: Notifications for new auto-start entries and detection of erroneous records support continued monitoring.
Cons: Enabling data-transfer functions sends application lists, autorun applications, paths, and locations to a server, a material consideration for privacy-conscious users.
Cons: It is limited to Windows 7 through 11 and requires administrator rights, so it does not suit users who need broader platform coverage or lack elevated access.

Verdict

Choose Autorun Organizer if you want a free Windows startup utility that combines batch changes, boot-time context, and VirusTotal checks. Its main reason to look elsewhere is the data-transfer trade-off: users unwilling to send application and autorun details to a server should avoid enabling those functions, while teams needing non-Windows coverage need another tool.
