Overview

Nialtus combines scheduled cohorts and live sessions with self-paced learning, assignments, progress tracking, assessments, and certificates. A separate 250-student limit is stated alongside plan-specific active-learner caps; teams should clarify how both apply to their program before committing, especially if cohort enrollment may exceed the paid tier’s limit.

Each customer’s learners, courses, results, and files sit in a separate database. Administrators can publish versioned privacy, terms, and conduct policies and require acceptance before learners gain access. These controls support structured programs, but do not establish that the platform meets any particular organization’s compliance requirements.

Key features

Authoring and course content

The drag-and-drop studio offers more than 30 blocks, while SCORM and xAPI import and tracking let teams bring existing course material into the platform. Video, slides, and PDFs are also supported. More than 220 ready-made courses can be added in one click, potentially accelerating setup when the library matches a team’s needs; organizations with specialized curricula may still need to build and maintain their own content.

Learning operations

Knowledge checks, graded exams, and assignments cover different ways to assess learners, while branded, verifiable certificates give organizations a credential to issue at completion. A live skills matrix shows who can do what, and job roles can define required skills. That combination is useful when training is meant to inform staffing or capability decisions, not just record course completion.

AI, integrations, and branding

The AI suite can draft courses, tutor learners, and translate content. Nialtus also provides a scoped REST API, event webhooks, and automation rules, with customer-provided keys for email, payment, and media integrations. These give technical teams options to connect workflows and services, but the need to supply integration keys means they should account for their own provider setup. Customer branding and custom domains with SSL are supported; white-labeling is a plan add-on on some tiers, so teams with strict branding requirements should confirm the applicable terms.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows 10 active learners, 5 courses, 1 GB of storage, 1 language, and 1 admin. It is a low-risk way to start a small program, but the learner and course ceilings make it a poor fit for sustained organizational rollout.

Launch costs 74.00 USD per month, billed at $74 first month, then $149 /month; the annual option is $1,190 first year, then $1,490 /year. Its 100 active learners, 50 courses, 10 GB, 2 languages, and 3 admins suit a small team moving beyond a pilot, though the first-month and first-year prices are introductory relative to renewal.

Growth costs 249.00 USD per month, billed at $249 first month, then $499 /month; annually it is $3,990 first year, then $4,990 /year. With 500 active learners, unlimited courses, 50 GB, 5 languages, and 10 admins, it is the more practical fit for a growing program with multiple administrators or broader language needs. Scale costs 999.00 USD per month, billed at $999 first month, then $1,999 /month; the annual option is $15,990 first year, then $19,990 /year. It raises capacity to 2,500 active learners, 200 GB, unlimited languages, and 25 admins, making it more appropriate for larger operations that need those limits.

Enterprise has custom pricing and offers unlimited active learners, storage, and admins. It is the tier to consider when published limits are insufficient, but organizations should obtain a quote and confirm terms. Across the paid tiers, renewal increases materially over the initial monthly or annual price, so budget against the continuing rate rather than the introductory one.

Platforms

Nialtus is available on web and through an API. Teams choosing it for an existing stack can assess its scoped REST API, webhooks, automation rules, and customer-supplied integration keys against their own connection needs.

Who it's for

Nialtus is strongest for organizations that need more than course hosting: skills tracking, formal assessments, credentials, learner policy acceptance, and cohort or live delivery in one learning program. Smaller teams can begin on the free plan, while organizations should match active learners, storage, languages, and administrator counts to the paid tier before scaling. It is less compelling for a team seeking a roomy free plan or one that cannot accept the paid tiers’ renewal prices.

Pros and cons

Pros: SCORM and xAPI tracking, a broad authoring studio, and a large ready-made course library give teams multiple routes to assemble learning content.
Pros: Skills matrices, role requirements, assessments, and verifiable certificates connect learning activity to capability tracking and credentials.
Pros: Separate customer databases and learner policy acceptance provide useful operational controls for organizational programs.
Cons: The free tier’s 10-active-learner and 5-course caps limit its usefulness beyond a small pilot.
Cons: Launch, Growth, and Scale renew at substantially higher rates than their first-month or first-year prices, complicating budget comparisons.
Cons: White-labeling is an add-on on some tiers, so branding needs may add cost or affect plan choice.

Alternatives

For a broader set of cohort-based options, compare the Cohort-Based Course Platforms list; for a shorter-format learning focus, see Microlearning Platforms.

Choose UjuziPlus if its free Creator plan, UjuziPlus subdomain, course builder with quizzes, marketplace selling, and basic learner reporting fit your launch; it also spans Android, iOS, web, API, and self-hosted platforms.

Cohorta is an alternative with a free plan that allows one product, 50 learners, and 500 email messages per month, with a 10% sales commission; its Starter plan is 299.00 PLN per month.

Sublime LMS offers a free sandbox for 50 active learners, 2 published courses, 1 admin or instructor, and 100 emails per month, with limited video and storage; consider it if that sandbox scale and its free trial are a better starting point.

NovoEd is another paid talent development platform with custom solution pricing.

Pathwright may fit teams that value a stated Starter allowance of up to 1,000 members, 1 administrator, and 1 cohort per course; it costs 99.00 USD per month, or $89/mo when billed annually.

Intrepid is another option for teams comparing performance-focused learning platforms.

Academy Launcher is a paid option with a free trial and apps for Android and iOS as well as web and API access.

Teachfloor may suit a smaller cohort program: its Startup plan costs 89.00 USD per month for 50 user seats, unlimited courses, 10 GB of file storage, and a 5 MB attached-file limit, with a free trial.

Verdict

Choose Nialtus if your organization needs course creation and delivery alongside assessment, skills tracking, credentials, and learner policy controls. Its API and workflow tools make it a credible candidate for teams connecting learning to existing operations. Look elsewhere if the renewal price, learner ceilings, or white-labeling terms do not fit your scale and budget.
