Overview

Beamer brings a changelog and notification center together with announcement delivery and a feedback portal. Teams can target communications with basic segmentation or advanced AND/OR rules, and give users a place to submit, vote on, and discuss ideas. That combination suits teams building an ongoing channel for product communication, though the free tier's tight quotas make it better for a small trial than a growing deployment.

Key features

Announcements and targeting

Boosted announcements can appear as pop-ups, top bars, snippets, and tooltips. Multiple formats give teams ways to surface updates in a site or app, while segmentation helps narrow their audience. Push notifications can reach users who are offline on a site or app, extending the channel beyond users currently viewing a page.

Feedback and roadmap

The Feedback product includes an ideas portal and roadmap where users can submit, vote on, and comment on ideas. Beamer also lists in-app feedback, feature requests, NPS surveys, and sentiment analysis. NPS and Feedback are separate $99.00 USD per month add-ons, so teams should account for those costs if they need the corresponding survey or feedback workflows.

Integrations, security, and reliability

Installation options include an HTML/JavaScript embed, WordPress plugin, Google Tag Manager, and API. Integration options include Zapier, Segment, webhooks, social sharing, and a WordPress plugin, giving teams several routes to connect or deploy it. Beamer states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, encrypts data in transit and at rest, backs up customer data, and maintains uptime over 99.9%.

Pricing

Beamer offers a free plan, paid plans, and a 14-day trial. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 1,000 MAUs, 1 teammate, 1 language, 0 API requests/month, and a watermark. That is a narrow entry point: the teammate cap limits collaboration, the watermark affects presentation, and zero API requests rules out API-dependent workflows at this tier.

Starter is 5949.00 USD per month, displayed per month with monthly or yearly billing, and includes 5,000 MAUs, unlimited teammates, 2,000 API requests/month, and standard support. It removes the Free plan's one-teammate ceiling but leaves a modest API allowance. Pro is 11999.00 USD per month, displayed per month with monthly or yearly billing, and raises the limits to 10,000 MAUs, 20,000 API requests/month, and 5,000 emails/month, with advanced support. Scale is 299249.00 USD per month, displayed per month with monthly or yearly billing, and includes 50,000 MAUs, 100,000 API requests/month, 20,000 emails/month, and priority support. These tiers fit teams whose audience and usage quotas justify their higher capacity and support levels.

Custom has custom pricing and offers custom MAUs, unlimited teammates, custom API and email limits, and enterprise support. It is the fit for teams that need enterprise-oriented security review or onboarding options. NPS and Feedback each cost $99.00 USD per month; NPS includes in-app, email, and linked surveys, advanced analytics, and advanced segmentation, while Feedback includes in-app feedback collection and moderation plus public and private roadmaps.

Exceeding included MAUs automatically adds bundles at $50/month per additional 5,000 MAUs, so audience growth can raise costs beyond the plan price. Check the MAU allowance and any add-ons against expected usage before choosing a tier.

Platforms

Beamer is listed for Android, iOS, web, and API use. Its embed, WordPress plugin, Google Tag Manager, and API installation paths give teams alternatives for fitting it into existing sites and apps.

Who it's for

Beamer is best suited to product and marketing teams that want to publish targeted updates and collect user ideas through a shared engagement tool. It is less compelling for teams that need substantial free usage, because the free tier has one teammate, one language, no API requests, and a watermark. Teams with API-heavy workflows or large audiences should weigh the plan quotas and automatic MAU bundles carefully.

Pros and cons

Pros: Announcement formats and basic or AND/OR segmentation give teams flexible ways to direct product updates.
Pros: The ideas portal and roadmap combine submissions, voting, and comments, with in-app feedback and NPS capabilities also available.
Pros: Multiple installation paths and integrations can accommodate different web and app setups.
Pros: SOC 2 Type II certification, GDPR compliance, encryption, backups, and stated uptime over 99.9% address important operational concerns.
Cons: The Free plan's one-seat cap, single language, zero API requests, and watermark limit its usefulness for established teams.
Cons: NPS and Feedback cost extra, adding $99.00 USD per month apiece when teams need those workflows.
Cons: Automatic $50/month bundles for every additional 5,000 MAUs can increase costs as audiences grow.

Alternatives

For teams prioritizing product analytics alongside in-app guides, Pendo Analytics has a free plan for 500 monthly active users with product analytics, in-app guides, and unlimited web and mobile app keys. Sleekplan is another option for teams focused on feedback and changelog publishing: its free Indie plan includes unlimited feedback and subscribers, a Feedback Board and Changelog, and 1,000 announcement views/month, but no team seats. Canny may suit a smaller feedback program, with a free plan covering 25 tracked users and unlimited feedback; its Pro plan is 79.00 USD per month billed yearly for 100+ tracked users and PM integrations.

Featurebase offers a free plan with one seat, unlimited conversations, and Feedback, making it worth comparing for teams that can work within that seat limit. Productboard is an alternative for teams weighing a product-planning tool with a free tier that includes 50 AI credits/month, 500 feedback notes, 25 contributors, one teamspace, and one product portal. Dragonboat is another product-management option. ProdPad and airfocus are also alternatives to consider.

Verdict

Choose Beamer if your product or marketing team wants one embeddable place for targeted announcements and user feedback, with installation paths that can fit different stacks. Its combination of changelog, delivery formats, and feedback portal is the core reason to pick it. Look elsewhere if a useful free tier, bundled NPS or feedback workflows, or predictable costs at rising MAU volumes matter more.
