Overview

Knock CRM is a centralized leasing, marketing and operations platform for multifamily property teams. It suits operators coordinating prospect engagement across properties, particularly those that need to connect leasing activity with marketing attribution. Its breadth is useful in that setting, but its paid, custom-priced model and narrow market focus make it a poor match for general-purpose sales teams.

Key features

Knock combines SMS, email, Facebook Messenger, chatbot, live chat and phone communications. Email and text automation can qualify inbound leads and prompt timely follow-up, while Knock Now lets prospective renters book tours from a website or app. Knockbot adds round-the-clock access for tour scheduling, pricing and availability questions, and common leasing queries. This is a substantial prospect-engagement toolkit for teams trying to move inquiries toward tours; it is less compelling if a business does not need leasing-specific workflows.

On the staff side, centralized referrals, browser-based calling and a guest card with a prospect’s visits and leases across a portfolio bring context into the leasing process. An automated dashboard gathers daily tasks, and the Knock Engagement Score measures responsiveness through completed tasks. These tools can help managers see whether leads are being followed up, rather than merely logged. Knock’s iOS companion supports prospect messaging, engagement scores, walk-in greetings, quotes and an appointment calendar; Knock Mobile also includes live availability, quick replies and lead forms.

Marketing attribution is a notable strength: dynamic number insertion and UTM tracking help identify where prospects convert, while multi-touch reporting traces prospect journeys across channels. For marketing directors comparing sources and touchpoints, that is more useful than a basic lead list. The API also allows customers to build apps and workflows around Knock data, which can help teams fit the platform into a customized stack.

The partner directory names property-system integrations for AMSI, Yardi, ResMan, RealPage, Entrata and MRI. That breadth is relevant for multifamily operators already using one of those systems, although the API and integrations should be evaluated against the specific workflows a team needs. Knock states that it complies with TCPA, CAN-SPAM and CCPA, and reports uptime above 99%, supported by auto-scaling infrastructure and AWS Shield Advanced. Its stated security controls include encrypted sessions, single sign-on, Veracode static testing, Rapid7 dynamic testing and Splunk monitoring; Knock also announced a SOC 2 Type 1 assessment covering Knock CRM and Knock Tours.

Pricing

Knock is a paid product with custom pricing. That makes it difficult to compare costs without a quote, especially for teams weighing multiple properties or user needs. There are no published plan tiers, seat allowances, quotas or trial terms to distinguish a lower-cost entry point from a broader deployment. Buyers should confirm the scope and commercial terms directly before treating the platform’s feature breadth as a fit.

Platforms

Knock CRM is available on the web and iOS, and offers an API. The mobile companion is aimed at leasing staff who need prospect communications, quotes, availability and appointment information while away from a desk. Android is not among the supported platforms.

Who it's for

Knock is designed for multifamily property management companies and their leasing teams. Its audience also includes operations executives, marketing directors, owners, property managers and IT teams. It is best suited to organizations that want leasing communications, task follow-through and marketing-source analysis in one environment, particularly where the listed property-system partners or API matter. Teams outside multifamily, or those seeking a broadly applicable CRM, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: A broad set of prospect channels, tour self-scheduling and automated follow-up can keep leasing inquiries moving.
Pros: Portfolio-level guest cards, centralized tasks and responsiveness scoring connect prospect context with team follow-through.
Pros: Dynamic number insertion, UTM tracking and multi-touch reporting help marketing teams assess prospect sources and journeys.
Pros: An API and integrations with major property-management systems give teams routes to connect Knock with an existing stack.
Cons: Custom pricing offers no public tier or cost benchmark, so buyers must request a quote to assess fit.
Cons: The multifamily focus and iOS-only mobile support limit its appeal for other industries and Android-based teams.

Alternatives

LeadSimple is worth considering for teams wanting Android support, a free trial and a published Phone + Inbox Core plan at 29.00 USD per month, billed at $35 month-to-month. MagicDoor is an alternative for buyers seeking an AI Assistant plan priced at 1.50 USD per month on a one-year contract, with pricing starting at 25 units. Customermates fits teams looking for a freemium, open-source web CRM with a Starter plan at 12.00 EUR per month, billed monthly. Anyone Home is another paid, web-based alternative.

Rent Dynamics CRM is a paid web-based option with pricing available by contacting the provider. ResidentIQ CRM is another paid web-based alternative. Union uses custom pricing per unit and product, with a quote provided on the first call. Ayillo CRM is a paid alternative with a free trial, Android and iOS apps, and a Core workspace plan at 49.00 USD per month that includes the first five units.

Verdict

Knock CRM is a strong fit for multifamily operators that need coordinated prospect engagement, leasing-task oversight and detailed marketing attribution, especially when its API or property-system integrations align with their stack. The principal reason to choose it is that combination of leasing workflows and source analysis; the principal reason to look elsewhere is its custom pricing, alongside the platform’s limited relevance beyond multifamily.
