Overview

BlueKing CMDB is a self-deployable configuration-management platform for tracking enterprise assets and applications. It suits infrastructure teams that need to model their own environment and can run the supporting services. Its discovery and modeling breadth is appealing, but the open-source edition’s no-login design makes it a poor fit when authenticated user management is essential.

Key features

Teams can extend built-in attributes and define models and relationships for networks, middleware, and virtual resources. That flexibility can fit a varied infrastructure better than a fixed asset schema, but it also puts the work of designing and maintaining those models on the organization. Service and dependency mapping, discovery imports, and ownership tracking add useful context to configuration records.

Automatic discovery, machine-data snapshots, and proactive change-event pushes help keep records current as infrastructure changes. Host records cover basic attributes, snapshots, and ownership relationships; business-based organizational management and module-based host process management connect that inventory to operational structures. Event registration and delivery use callbacks, which suits teams able to integrate through that mechanism.

User-group permissions and operation auditing provide general access controls and traceability. However, the open-source version disables user management because it has no login functionality. Teams that require authenticated accounts should treat that as a decisive limitation rather than assume the permission features supply a complete access-control workflow.

Pricing

The Community Edition costs 0.00 USD per free, billed 永久免费. It includes one-click deployment, automated operations, community access, and documentation. This is the fit for teams that can operate the software themselves and do not need login-enabled user management; free does not remove the operational burden of self-hosting or the open-source access limitation.

Partner enterprise services use custom pricing, billed 联系我们. The offering includes expert customization, 7*24h dedicated service, enterprise integration, and internal training, making it the option for organizations that need tailored help and ongoing service rather than a no-cost community deployment.

Platforms

BlueKing CMDB supports API and web access, with Linux, macOS, Windows, and self-hosted deployment options. It can be deployed independently; container deployment instructions cover Windows, macOS, and Linux Docker environments. Its microservice architecture uses a Go backend and Vue.js frontend. Deployment documentation names ZooKeeper, Redis, and MongoDB as dependencies, with Elasticsearch and Monstache for full-text search. These dependencies make it more suitable for teams prepared to operate a multi-service stack than for those seeking a managed, low-maintenance service.

The project is MIT-licensed and offers documentation, a wiki, a forum, video tutorials, and QQ technical groups as support resources.

Who it's for

Choose BlueKing CMDB if your team wants configurable asset and application models, automated discovery, host ownership tracking, and operational controls in a platform it can deploy and maintain. Look elsewhere if login-based user management is mandatory, or if you want to avoid running its supporting services.

Pros and cons

Pros: Extensible models and relationships cover networks, middleware, and virtual resources, helping teams represent infrastructure beyond basic host records.
Pros: Discovery, snapshots, change-event pushes, and ownership tracking provide multiple ways to keep configuration records connected to operational changes.
Pros: MIT licensing and a permanently free community edition give self-hosting teams a no-cost starting point.
Cons: The open-source edition has no login and disables user management, limiting its suitability for teams that need managed, authenticated access.
Cons: The documented dependencies and self-deployment model require teams to take responsibility for operating the platform stack.

Alternatives

CMDB Software is the broader directory for comparing options in this category.

CMDBuild is another free, self-hosted option, but its data model, workflows, reports, and dashboards are not included.

teemIP is a free community option with an open-source codebase and access to GitHub, a wiki, and a community forum.

GLPI is worth considering for teams that want a public-cloud plan as well as self-hosted support; its Public Cloud plan starts at 19.00 EUR per month per IT agent, from one billed agent.

Happy CMDB is an open-source alternative under the Apache License 2.0.

Hornbill IT Asset Management offers personalized pricing tailored to requirements and scalable packages.

DemandFlow ITSM is another paid option with API and web platforms.

Ivanti Neurons CMDB is a paid alternative that directs buyers to contact sales for a demo or pricing.

BeaverFlow CMDB is a paid alternative with a Growth plan at 24.00 USD per month, billed at $24 per user per month for up to 50 users.

Verdict

BlueKing CMDB is a strong fit for infrastructure teams that want broad, adaptable asset modeling and discovery in a self-deployed platform, and can accept its operating demands. Its main reason to choose is the combination of custom relationships, discovery, host ownership, and operational traceability; its main reason to look elsewhere is the open-source edition’s lack of login and user management.
