Overview

NotaryCentral is a notary-business platform combining remote online notarization with journal, booking, payment, and accounting tools. It suits independent notaries and teams that want those workflows together. Its broad toolkit and offline journal entry creation are the draw; weigh the 15-signing free allowance against recurring plan fees and per-notarization credits.

Key features

The e-Journal supports searchable records with thumbprints, signatures, and ID numbers, plus PDF or full-data exports. A tamper-evident hash is created when an entry is saved, and a later edit causes the hash not to match. That helps surface changes to a record, while offline entry creation—even while signed out—makes the journal useful in the field. Entries sync once connectivity returns, so offline work still needs a later connection.

Accounting tools generate year-end profit-and-loss, mileage, expense, and 1099/payment reports in CSV or PDF. This is useful for notaries who want business reporting alongside their journal, though the product's accounting page identifies Square as an optional card-payment integration rather than a broader set of accounting payment connections. Booking links let clients select availability, service fees, and add-ons; submit intake information; upload documents; and optionally pay upfront. Stripe and Square are configurable payment providers. Google Calendar and Google Maps may also be linked.

Remote notarization includes audio-video sessions, electronic notarization, and notarized record storage. Identity verification is supported, with a higher credit cost for notarizations using verification and biometrics. Compliance tools provide AI answers based on state notary handbooks with citations, and reminders for notaries who still need a paper journal.

NotaryCentral says transmissions use SSL/TLS encryption, while sensitive account information is encrypted and access-controlled in storage. It also says it does not sell customer data, customer lists, or notarization records. For Extract from ID, the original image is not stored on its servers; extracted text is processed temporarily.

Pricing

The two free plans, Business Suite Free and e-Journal Free, each include the first 15 RON signings, require no credit card, and include email support. They are useful for evaluating the workflow or handling limited volume, but the signing allowance is finite.

After that, RON credits are pay-as-you-go: $1.50 USD per notarization without ID verification, or $3.00 USD per notarization with ID verification and biometrics. The latter costs twice as much per session, so frequent use of verified sessions can add up independently of the tools subscription.

e-Journal Plus (Yearly) costs $19.92 USD per year, billed annually at $1.66/month. It adds unlimited entries and mobile app access, with email support. It is the lower-cost fit for notaries chiefly seeking a fuller journal; it does not include the Business Tools plan's unlimited appointments or priority support.

Business Tools (Yearly) costs $120.00 USD per year, billed annually at $10.00/month. It includes unlimited appointments and priority support, fitting users whose booking workflow and support needs justify the higher annual fee. NotaryCentral also describes custom pricing for plans without a fixed price.

Platforms

NotaryCentral supports Android, iOS, web, API, and extension access. Mobile support includes an app and mobile web, giving field users more than a desktop-only journal option.

Who it's for

Independent notaries and teams are the stated audience. It is a strong fit for operators who want journal, booking, reports, and remote notarization in one service, particularly those who need offline journal creation. Those focused only on occasional online signing should compare the ongoing plan costs and credit charges with their expected volume.

Pros and cons

Pro: Offline journal entry creation, including while signed out, supports field work without immediate connectivity.
Pro: Journal exports and year-end business reports cover both recordkeeping and financial reporting workflows.
Pro: Booking links combine availability, fees, add-ons, intake, uploads, and optional upfront payment.
Con: Free access stops after 15 RON signings, after which notarizations may require separate credits.
Con: Verified notarizations with biometrics cost $3.00 USD per session, twice the no-verification credit rate.
Con: The annual plans have distinct scopes: journal access does not bring unlimited appointments or priority support.

Verdict

NotaryCentral is best for independent notaries and teams that want a journal, appointment booking, accounting reports, and remote notarization in one toolkit. Offline journal creation and the breadth of supporting business features are its clearest reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if a 15-signing free allowance or separate credit costs do not suit your expected notarization volume.
