Overview

Booqinq is an appointment-management platform for service businesses, with booking, scheduling, customer records, reminders and payment tools. Its strongest fit is a salon or studio coordinating staff and customer histories while building beyond a basic booking page. The free tier is a useful starting point, but its single-location limit and paid messaging or payment costs matter as the business grows.

Key features

Customers can book through a hosted page without installing an app or creating an account. The calendar handles staff, rooms, appointments, deposits and availability, so it can support a service operation rather than just publish open time slots. Technician scheduling and a nail service menu strengthen the fit for salons and studios with staff-based appointments.

Client records can retain visit history, preferences, intake answers and notes, and are exportable on every tier. That portability is a practical advantage for businesses that do not want customer information locked into their booking tool. Booqinq also supports booking through Google Search and Maps with Reserve with Google.

Stripe processes payments without a Booqinq markup, and card numbers go from the customer’s browser directly to Stripe. That is a clear payment path, but payment processing and prepaid messaging credits cost extra on applicable plans, so the subscription alone may not reflect operating costs.

Integrations include Google Calendar, WhatsApp, SMS/email, HubSpot and AgencyAnalytics, alongside an API, webhooks and MCP. On Business, the hosted MCP endpoint lets compatible assistants check availability and book appointments; that is a specialized advantage for teams building assistant-led booking, not a reason for every small salon to upgrade.

Booqinq says customer data is pinned to US-East, EU-West (Frankfurt) or AP-Southeast, with storage, processing and backups kept in-region. It also says personal fields are anonymized on deletion, with hard deletion after 30 days by default or seven days in purge mode; deletion and restore actions are audit-logged. Its security page says it does not display compliance badges it does not hold. These are useful operational specifics, though they do not amount to a compliance certification.

Pricing

The Free plan costs €0.00 forever and includes unlimited staff, one location, unlimited bookings and 500 email reminders per month, with a Booqinq-branded page. It is a substantial way to start a single-site operation, but the reminder quota and branding may become constraints for businesses with heavier customer communication or a more established brand.

Solo costs €25/mo month-to-month or €21/mo billed annually. It keeps the one-location limit and unlimited staff, while adding a custom domain, payments and deposits, full CRM, and WhatsApp/SMS/voice credits. It suits a single-site business that needs those customer and payment tools; credits and payment costs can still add to the bill.

Pro costs €69/mo month-to-month or €57/mo billed annually. It also covers one location and unlimited staff, and adds removal of Booqinq branding, AI rebooking, packages and memberships, and SDK/API access. This is the step up for a single-location business that wants branded customer-facing booking or developer access, rather than simply more staff capacity.

Business costs €129/mo month-to-month or €107/mo billed annually. It supports multiple locations and unlimited staff, and adds an AI phone agent, MCP and webhooks, plus priority support. The added spend makes most sense for a growing multi-site operation or one building assistant and integration workflows.

Agency has custom pricing and includes a white-label portfolio, wholesale credits and provisioning playbooks, making it the tier aimed at organizations managing a portfolio rather than an individual service location. The paid plans have a 14-day trial. Annual prices are lower than month-to-month rates, but require annual billing; the free tier remains limited to one location and 500 email reminders monthly.

Platforms

Booqinq is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows. That range supports teams working across mobile and desktop environments without tying the service to a single operating system.

Who it's for

Booqinq targets salons, barbershops, nail studios, spas and wellness businesses, tattoo studios, lash and brow studios, pet groomers and massage therapists. Its scheduling, service menu and customer-record tools fit businesses where repeat visits and staff availability matter. A single-location operator can start free; businesses needing multiple sites, white-label portfolio management or advanced integrations will need to consider a higher tier. It is less compelling for a business that only needs basic appointment slots and does not need its records, payments or customer engagement tools.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited bookings and staff on Free make it viable for a small single-location business to begin without a subscription.
Pros: Exportable client records on every tier reduce dependence on the platform for customer history.
Pros: Stripe handles card details directly, with no Booqinq markup on payments.
Pros: Business supports multiple locations and offers MCP, webhooks and priority support for teams with broader operational needs.
Cons: Free is capped at one location and 500 email reminders monthly, and its booking page carries Booqinq branding.
Cons: Payment and prepaid messaging costs can sit on top of the subscription, complicating cost comparisons.
Cons: The jump from Solo to Pro is substantial, so branding removal, AI rebooking, packages or API access need to justify the higher price for a single-site business.

Alternatives

Klippa is worth comparing if its free plan’s one-staff, one-location allowance and 50 monthly SMS quota match a smaller operation’s needs.
SalonHub360 offers a Starter plan at $19.99/month for one staff member, with online booking, a full service menu, client management and basic reminders; consider it if those essentials are enough and a lower listed monthly price is the priority.
Salonnare has a €0/month Free plan for one staff member and 50 bookings monthly, or a €29/month Starter plan for three staff and unlimited bookings. It is a relevant comparison for businesses weighing a small free booking allowance against a paid three-staff tier.
Nail Studio Pro may suit a nail studio that prefers its free tier’s explicit limits of 30 registered clients, 40 bookings monthly and eight catalog services.
Anolla has a free software tier for basic online table reservations with paid features activated as needed; compare it if that reservation model is closer to the business’s needs.
Bookify charges $20.00 per team member each month for its Pro plan, which includes unlimited services and appointments, staff and shift planning, client records and multiple locations. Its per-member pricing is worth considering when that feature mix better fits the team.
Zolmi is another freemium option with a three-staff START example priced at A$45,333.00 monthly, or A$33/month annually; its example includes stock limited to 10 products, with SMS from A$0.
Clover POS is an alternative to consider for a POS-centered setup.

Verdict

Booqinq is a strong fit for appointment-based service businesses that want booking, staff scheduling and portable customer records in one system, with a free single-location entry point and a clear route to multi-location tools. Choose it when those operational pieces—and potentially its Stripe, API or MCP capabilities—justify the tier and usage costs. Look elsewhere if you need only a basic booking calendar, or if extra payment and messaging charges make the total cost a poor fit.
