Overview

BrainCert brings live instruction and classroom tools together: sessions can include video, screen sharing, polls, breakout rooms, recording, and a shared whiteboard. The strongest case for it is breadth: alongside teaching features, it offers mobile browser access, integrations, and an HTML5 API. Its trade-off is that capacity is governed by several separate monthly and per-session limits, so teams should size a plan against their actual teaching schedule.

Key features

Live collaboration: Breakout rooms, screen sharing, polls, attendance tracking, and recording support classes that need more than one-way video. A session supports up to 10 concurrent video streams and unlimited audio streams, so video participation is more constrained than audio.
Teaching tools: The whiteboard includes a LaTeX equation editor, and teachers can annotate documents, use a cloud media player, and work in an online code editor. That mix suits lessons involving equations, shared materials, or code rather than only presentations.
Language and mobile access: The interface is available in over 50 human-translated languages and supports right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew. Learners and teachers can join from Android or iOS phones and tablets through WebRTC audio and video without installing an app.
Integration and embedding: The HTML5 Virtual Classroom API supports embedding in a website, LMS, or CMS. Integrations include Google Analytics, Stripe, SAML single sign-on, Zoho CRM, MailChimp, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Okta, Pabbly, and Zapier.
Security: BrainCert states it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certifications and supports GDPR and HIPAA compliance. Processing protected health information requires a Business Associate Agreement. It says data in transit uses TLS 1.2 or 1.3 where applicable, while data at rest uses AWS KMS HSMs and AES-256 where appropriate.

Pricing

BrainCert offers a complimentary forever-free plan and a 14-day trial of standard features for premium offerings. Pricing spans an API-only free tier, several paid tiers, and custom Enterprise plans. Classroom minutes are based on session length, not participant minutes, which makes class duration—not attendee count—the key driver of that quota.

Plan	Price and limits	Best fit
Free API plan	0.00 USD per free; two connections (one instructor and one attendee), sessions up to 30 minutes, and 600 minutes of free API usage.	A small API integration or proof of concept; the two-connection cap makes it unsuitable for a regular group class.
Pro	49.00 USD per month, billed annually; up to 2 admins or instructors, 3,000 contacts, 2,000 classroom minutes/month, 10 attendees/session, and 700 recording minutes/month.	A small operation with short, low-attendance sessions. Its 10-person session limit is the main constraint.
Elite	119.00 USD per month, billed annually; up to 5 admins or instructors, 15,000 contacts, 5,000 classroom minutes/month, 50 attendees/session, and 1,500 recording minutes/month.	Teams needing more instructors and moderate class sizes without moving to unlimited staff.
Growth	239.00 USD per month, billed annually; unlimited admins and instructors, 40,000 contacts, 10,000 classroom minutes/month, 200 attendees/session, and 3,000 recording minutes/month.	Organizations running larger sessions or sharing classroom administration across a broad team. Premium onboarding support is included.
Enterprise	Custom pricing; custom plans offer higher user counts, higher SLA, enterprise support, and increased platform limits.	Companies whose user, service-level, support, or capacity needs exceed the fixed tiers.

The separate classroom plans are priced at 119.00 USD per month for Bronze, 239.00 USD per month for Silver, and 511.00 USD per month for Gold, each billed annually. Bronze allows 25 attendees per session, 5,000 classroom minutes/month, 1,000 recording minutes/month, and 100 active learners/month. Silver raises these to 100 attendees, 10,000 classroom minutes, 2,500 recording minutes, and 200 active learners. Gold supports 300 attendees, 25,000 classroom minutes, 5,000 recording minutes, and 500 active learners. These tiers suit teams prioritizing attendee capacity and active-learner allowances; the monthly quotas still cap total session and recording time.

The cheaper Pro tier limits classes to 10 attendees and has smaller contact, classroom-minute, and recording quotas than Elite or Growth. Free API access is narrower still: one instructor and one attendee, a 30-minute maximum session, and 600 usage minutes. The paid monthly figures above are billed annually; the pricing page also shows “20% off” for Pro, Elite, and Growth. The pricing page lists 24x7 ticketing support.

Platforms

The classroom is browser-based, with Android and iOS mobile and tablet access through the browser rather than an app installation. The API option supports teams integrating the classroom into an existing web or learning platform.

Who it's for

BrainCert is aimed at K12 schools, universities, tutors, group collaboration, and corporate training. It is a strong fit when instruction benefits from whiteboarding, document annotation, breakout rooms, or an embedded classroom, and when the available limits align with class size and schedule. Teams seeking a simple, high-capacity video room without teaching tools or quota planning may find its tier structure more than they need.

Pros and cons

Pro: The equation editor, annotation, cloud media player, and code editor support varied lesson formats within one classroom.
Pro: Mobile browser participation and more than 50 translated interface languages help accommodate learners across devices and language settings.
Pro: An HTML5 embedding API and broad integrations give teams options for fitting sessions into an existing web, LMS, or CMS stack.
Con: Session attendance, classroom minutes, recording minutes, and active learners or contacts are distinct caps; plans need to be matched to several usage patterns, not just headcount.
Con: The product page's 10 concurrent video streams limit means a 25-, 100-, or 300-attendee allowance does not mean every attendee can transmit video simultaneously.

Alternatives

Choose Classverse if a free forever classroom with unlimited classrooms, 1 GB of media storage, and no video recording better suits a small teaching setup. Choose LearnCube for unlimited 1:1 classes on its free Basic plan, which also includes a materials library of up to 10 files. Choose Neukol if its free plan's 90-minute classrooms, two lessons per month, 15 participants, and replay access for up to seven days match a limited schedule. Choose BigBlueButton if open-source software developed by an international community is the priority. Consider WizIQ for its paid Professional plan with a dedicated classroom for each teacher and participant options of 10, 25, or 50. Consider Electa LMS for its Live Virtual Classroom option with one room and one teacher, or its Pro option for unlimited learners and live classes. Choose alfaview if a free room for up to 50 participants and 50 breakout rooms per room fits better. Consider TrainerCentral if a free plan with three courses, unlimited learner accounts, and 10 active learners suits the course operation. Browse Virtual Classroom Software or Online course platforms for more options.

Verdict

BrainCert is best for education and training teams that want teaching-specific collaboration tools, mobile browser access, and an API they can embed in an existing stack. Its main reason to choose it is that combination of classroom tools and integration flexibility; its main reason to look elsewhere is the layered attendee and time quotas, especially if many participants need video at once or the session pattern is hard to fit into a fixed tier.
