Overview

The service combines shopping lists on Android, iOS, macOS and the web, with cloud storage and real-time syncing. You can invite people to an individual list or share your whole account; email invitations can include people who have not registered. This is flexible for household coordination, though the free tier’s three-list limit and two-collaborator cap can become restrictive as needs grow.

Organization centers on a predefined grocery-item dictionary and color groups, rather than a deeper planning workflow. Each account has a login name and PIN. The privacy policy says the service may collect those credentials, email, list names and contents, and subscription receipts. It describes reasonable steps to protect personal data and encryption on pages where payment information is provided. The terms set an average availability target of 97%, excluding maintenance downtime; teams that need a stronger availability commitment should look elsewhere.

Key features

Shared lists: Invite people to individual lists or share the whole account. Email invitations for unregistered users lower the barrier for occasional collaborators, while the free plan’s two-account sharing cap limits larger groups.
Real-time syncing: Lists created on the website can be viewed across devices. That suits households checking the same list from different platforms, but the availability target is not a promise of uninterrupted access.
Basic organization: A grocery dictionary and color categories help sort list items. They provide practical structure without implying broader inventory or meal-planning capabilities.
Support: The support site offers a knowledge base, ticket submission and ticket-status checks. Pro adds premium support, which may matter to users who want a higher support tier.

Pricing

Buy Me a Pie! is freemium, with a free option and a 30-day trial. The paid tiers share the same feature set; the choice is mainly between recurring billing and a one-time payment.

Free — 0.00 USD per free: Three shopping lists, sharing with two other accounts and eight color groups. It is a reasonable starting point for a small household, but frequent list-makers or larger groups will encounter the caps.
Buy Me a Pie! Pro monthly — 2.99 USD per month: Billed $2.99 a month, with unlimited lists and list sharing, additional color groups, no ads and premium support. Choose it to remove the free-tier limits without committing annually.
Buy Me a Pie! Pro yearly — 29.99 USD per year: Billed $29.99 a year for the same Pro features. It costs less than twelve monthly payments at the stated monthly rate, in exchange for annual billing.
Buy Me a Pie! Pro lifetime license — 49.99 USD per once: A one-time payment for the same Pro features. It avoids recurring billing, but requires paying more upfront than either subscription’s initial term.

Platforms

Buy Me a Pie! supports Android, iOS, macOS and the web. That range is useful for households mixing phones, Mac computers and browser access; it does not include a listed browser extension.

Who it's for

Choose Buy Me a Pie! if your household wants synchronized grocery lists, simple item organization and the option to invite collaborators who have not signed up. The free tier works best when three lists, eight color groups and two other accounts are enough. Pro is more suitable when list volume or group size regularly exceeds those boundaries. It is a weaker fit for teams that need a higher stated availability target or are wary of storing account and list information in the cloud.

Pros and cons

Pro: Real-time access across mobile, Mac and web makes shared lists practical for households using different devices.
Pro: Email invitations can include unregistered collaborators, avoiding a registration requirement for occasional participation.
Pro: Pro offers unlimited lists and sharing under monthly, yearly and one-time payment options.
Con: Free accounts stop at three lists, two other accounts and eight color groups, which may force an upgrade as use expands.
Con: The average availability target is 97%, excluding maintenance downtime, which may be insufficient for users expecting a stronger service commitment.
Con: The privacy policy says account credentials and list contents may be collected, a relevant consideration for people who do not want grocery activity stored in the cloud.

Verdict

Buy Me a Pie! is a sound choice for households that want shared, synchronized lists across mobile, Mac and web, especially when occasional collaborators need not register. Pro’s unlimited lists and sharing make the product more usable as a group grows, with three billing choices. Look elsewhere if the free caps are too tight, a stronger availability commitment matters, or cloud storage of account and shopping-list information is a concern.
