Overview

The platform brings program operations, training progress, and reporting together across work-based learning programs. Educational institutions can use its pre-apprenticeship, internship, and registered apprenticeship platform free, while employers pay per enrolled apprentice. That split makes it well suited to education-led programs, but employer and school partners should settle who covers the employer plan.

Apprentices can use a free iOS or Android app. Sponsors, employers, related technical instruction providers, and journeyworkers use the browser platform.

Key features

Apprenticeship workflows cover program standards, applications, automated alerts, on-the-job training, and related instruction progress. Reporting and compliance automation is intended to help programs prepare for Department of Labor site visits and maintain grant eligibility. These tools address the ongoing administration of formal programs; employers pay for each enrolled apprentice regardless of whether administrative users are added.

Internship tools span applicant vetting, stakeholder coordination, goal setting, time tracking, integrated courses, mentor access, and reporting. A mobile app is available for interns. The combination suits organizations managing internships alongside apprenticeships, rather than teams seeking only a narrow placement tracker.

Integration examples include Moodle, Canvas, and Blackboard for learning management; ADP and Paychex for payroll; and Salesforce and HubSpot for CRM. Enterprise accounts can access the API. Single sign-on supports SAML 2.0 and OAuth2 with Microsoft Azure AD, Google Workspace, and Okta. That offers a route into common systems, though teams needing API access must qualify for an enterprise account.

GoSprout says it does not resell data and uses encryption, restricted access, annual risk assessments, and independent third-party penetration tests. Its technical guide states SOC 2 Type II audited, AES-256 encryption at rest, and TLS 1.2+ in transit; the security page cautions that its stated measures can change. Data is backed up regularly, retained for five years, and can be provided or deleted at a customer's request. The company also says it follows COPPA, FERPA, and CIPA practices; users aged 13 and younger cannot create accounts.

Free onboarding and training, plus ongoing support at no extra cost through in-app chat and email, reduce the work of getting a program started. Those channels are the stated primary support routes.

Pricing

Educational institutions receive free access to the platform, and apprentice profiles are also described as 100% free. The employer apprenticeship platform costs 40.00 USD per month, billed per enrolled apprentice per month. There is no upper limit on enrolled apprentices and no charge for administrative users, but the total recurring bill rises with cohort size. Implementation fees may be quoted if required, so the per-apprentice rate is not necessarily the whole setup cost.

The employer plan is likewise 40.00 USD per month, billed at $40 per enrolled apprentice per month, with no apprentice cap and no administrative-user charge. No trial term or renewal details are stated. The free institutional route is the clearest fit for schools; employers should model the per-apprentice spend and confirm implementation costs before committing.

Platforms

GoSprout supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, and lists API support for enterprise accounts. The free apprentice app is available on iOS and Android; other program roles use the browser platform.

Who it's for

GoSprout targets K–12 and career and technical education programs, colleges and universities, skilled-trades and workforce organizations, and enterprise employers. Its strongest fit is an organization that needs to coordinate structured apprenticeship or internship workflows and track training and compliance in one platform. It is less compelling for employers with large apprentice cohorts that cannot justify a per-person monthly fee, or teams that require API access outside an enterprise account.

Pros and cons

Pros: Free institutional access lowers the barrier for education-led programs; apprenticeship and internship workflows cover applications, training, mentoring, tracking, and reporting; no additional charge for employer administrative users; free onboarding and support.
Cons: Employer charges recur for every enrolled apprentice, with no upper cohort limit but no cost ceiling; implementation fees may apply; API access is limited to enterprise accounts.

Alternatives

For internship-focused selection, browse Internship Management Software. Choose Riipen when a free student-and-employer platform is the priority: its listed plan costs 0.00 USD per free and employers are not charged recruitment fees for hiring students after a project. GradLeaders is another paid option for teams comparing career and experiential-learning platforms.

CareerHive WIL suits institutions considering an institutional contract with custom pricing. Symplicity CSM Experiential Learning is another paid institutional module with custom pricing. BeChallenge offers a free teacher account for designing a learning experience, while institutional subscriptions use custom pricing. Flarebox is a freemium web and Windows alternative with a free plan focused on AI interview and practice-test sessions. Verdict

Choose GoSprout if your school, workforce organization, or employer needs apprenticeship and internship operations with training progress and compliance workflows in one place. Free institutional access and broad program coverage are its strongest reasons to shortlist it. Employers should look elsewhere if a per-apprentice monthly model or enterprise-gated API access does not fit their budget or stack.
