Overview

ScatterSpoke brings surveys, retrospectives, and Ask into one workflow for gathering feedback and deciding what to improve. Teams can choose from more than 20 classic retro formats or create their own, then use asynchronous collection to gather responses automatically. That combination is useful for distributed or time-constrained teams that cannot rely on everyone joining a live session.

AI-assisted retrospectives produce shareable summaries, takeaways, and action items. ScatterSpoke also says its AI is developed and hosted in-house, with customer data neither shared with major AI providers nor used to train other large language models. Its stated SOC 2 Type II compliance and annual penetration testing will matter to teams with security review requirements.

Key features

Feedback and retrospectives

The template library and custom formats give teams room to use established exercises or adapt their own. Anonymous feedback, voting, and action tracking support the path from collecting input to prioritizing and following up. Support for SAFe and other agile methodologies makes the product relevant to teams working within those practices, rather than only informal retrospectives.

Automation and integrations

Automated asynchronous feedback is a practical strength for teams whose schedules make a shared session difficult. ScatterSpoke advertises Jira, Slack, and Microsoft Teams integrations for collection and workflows; in Teams, users can create or pin retrospectives in a team space. Pro includes integrations, while Free does not, so teams evaluating whether these connections are central to their process will need to account for the paid tier.

AI, MCP, and API

MCP connects over OAuth on every plan, but reading results and insights through MCP requires a paid plan. Workspace API keys, with scoped access to surveys, responses, themes, and members, require Business or Enterprise. That is a meaningful divide: individual users can access MCP connectivity on Free, but teams building deeper workspace integrations must budget for a higher tier.

Pricing

ScatterSpoke is freemium, with a 45-day trial for paid plans. Organizations can discuss a custom trial through a 30-minute call. The Free plan is billed forever at 0.00 USD per free and includes one seat, unlimited static surveys and responses, 10 Agent Surveys one time, 50 Ask credits one time, basic signal detection, and MCP access. It is a useful single-seat evaluation, but the one-time Agent Survey and Ask allowances and lack of integrations limit its value as an ongoing team workspace.

Pro costs 29.00 USD per month, billed per seat per month, for up to 5 seats. It adds 20 Agent Surveys and 250 Ask credits per month, follow-ups, anonymous responses, integrations, MCP access to results, and white-label branding. This is the most direct fit for a small team needing a recurring feedback workflow; the per-seat billing makes the total rise with each additional seat, and SAML SSO is unavailable on Pro.

Business costs 149.00 USD per month, billed monthly, and includes 5 seats. Its 150 Agent Surveys and 2,000 Ask credits per month, teams, roles and groups, shared templates, API access, and priority support suit organizations with more structured workspace needs. Additional seats cost $35 / seat / month. SSO is a paid add-on, so teams needing it should factor that into their decision.

Enterprise has custom pricing and is built for the organization. It includes unlimited usage, organization-wide AI, SSO/SAML and SCIM, audit logs, data residency, custom integrations, and a dedicated customer success manager. It is the fit for organizations that need those controls and services; smaller teams can avoid that commitment with Pro or Business.

Platforms

ScatterSpoke is available on web and through an API. The API is not an equal starting point for every plan: workspace API keys begin at Business, while MCP connection is available on all plans and result-reading requires a paid plan.

Who it's for

ScatterSpoke is best suited to agile teams that want recurring feedback collection, structured retrospectives, and summaries or action items in one product. Pro fits small teams that need integrations and monthly AI allowances; Business is a stronger match for teams that need roles, shared templates, priority support, or workspace API access. A solo user can assess the workflow on Free, but the single seat makes it a poor long-term choice for a team.

Teams that require SAML SSO should look at Business with its paid SSO add-on or Enterprise, where SSO/SAML is included. Organizations needing audit logs or data residency will need Enterprise. Teams seeking only a simple retro board may find the higher-tier survey and AI workflow broader than they need.

Pros and cons

Pro: Automated asynchronous collection, templates, and action tracking connect feedback gathering to follow-through, which helps teams that cannot depend on a live meeting.
Pro: The 45-day trial gives teams time to evaluate the workflow, while the in-house AI and stated data-handling approach may suit organizations cautious about sending customer data to major AI providers.
Pro: Business includes workspace API access and scoped keys, a useful step up for teams integrating feedback data into existing workflows.
Con: Free is restricted to one seat and one-time AI allowances, so it is better for individual evaluation than sustained team use.
Con: Pro’s per-seat monthly pricing can increase as a team grows, while API keys require the more expensive Business plan.
Con: SAML SSO is not included in Free or Pro, and Business customers pay extra for it; organizations needing it included must choose Enterprise.

Alternatives

Retrospective Software is a broader category directory for comparing tools. Consider Team O'clock if freemium access and pricing per active member are more important: its Growth plan starts at 3.00 USD per month per active member, with a 10-member minimum and retrospective activities, history, and team metrics.

TeamRetro is worth considering for a paid, single-team setup: its Single Team plan costs 20.83 USD per year, billed at US$250/yr, and covers one team with 25 members and unlimited retros, estimations, standups, health checks, and maturity models. Echometer is an option for teams prioritizing a free tier with 25 workspace members and a limit of one retro per month after its trial period.

FocusRetro offers a free Starter plan with three personal boards per month, core templates, voting, reactions, phase timers, and action items, making it a narrower option for board-based retrospectives. Neatro is another free-plan choice, with up to 10 members, unlimited retrospectives and radars, and more than 70 templates.

Reetro may suit teams that prefer a free plan with multiple teams and boards: its FREE tier allows three teams, nine members per team, and 10 active boards, but includes no AI features and no free trial. Retrospected is an alternative for teams interested in self-hosting; its free Basic plan includes unlimited retrospectives and 40 posts. FreeRetrospectives is a free option with retro rooms, templates, action tracking, exports, AI recaps, health checks, and no per-user pricing.

Verdict

Choose ScatterSpoke if your team wants asynchronous feedback, structured retrospectives, and AI-generated summaries with a path to API-driven workflows. Its strongest case is the combination of automated collection and practical team features; its main drawback is that collaboration, API access, and SSO quickly push teams beyond the one-seat free plan. For a small agile team willing to pay per seat, Pro is the sensible starting point. For organizations needing API access or stronger administration, Business and Enterprise are the relevant tiers.
