Overview

The system brings contract creation, negotiation, execution, and renewal into a shared workspace. Procurement and legal teams can collaborate on drafts, comments, and versions, then route reviews and approvals through workflows. A central repository connects contract records with terms, obligations, stakeholders, risk, pricing, and performance, giving teams a broader view than document storage alone.

That context is especially useful when contract decisions depend on sourcing and supplier activity. Ivalua connects CLM with its sourcing and procure-to-pay products and can sync sourcing, supplier, order, invoice, and spend data. Teams that only need basic storage or signature handling may find this wider procurement scope unnecessary.

Key features

Authoring, collaboration, and review

AI authoring supports clause drafting and classification, risk assessment, approvals, e-signatures, and real-time collaboration using approved templates and clause libraries. Shared comments, version tracking, and automated review workflows help legal and procurement coordinate changes rather than passing drafts between disconnected processes. The value depends on teams establishing and maintaining suitable templates and clause libraries.

Repository and digitization

Full-text, metadata, and AI-enhanced search sit alongside contract summaries and a Contract 360 view of terms, versions, obligations, stakeholders, risk, pricing, and performance. AI can convert PDF and Word contracts into searchable structured data and extract key clauses and obligations, including in bulk for legacy-contract imports. That can make an existing contract estate more useful for ongoing oversight, not just filing.

Risk, compliance, and analytics

Risk scoring flags potentially problematic clauses, while audit trails, version history, workflows, and a central repository support policy enforcement and audit readiness. Dashboards cover contract health, compliance, risk, performance, cycle time, value, and consumption, with supplier and contract risk alerts. These controls and measures suit organizations that need oversight across a portfolio; smaller teams with few agreements may not need this depth.

Connections and platform

Native connections to Ivalua sourcing and procure-to-pay are complemented by prebuilt ERP connectors, including SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft through the Integration Hub. Out-of-the-box integrations with DocuSign and Adobe Sign support signature workflows. Ivalua describes the platform as multi-instance SaaS, with ISO 27001 certification and SOC 1 and SOC 2 attestation reports; it also reports SSAE 18 SOC 1 Type 2 and HIPAA certifications. Customer data can be hosted in a selected geography, with additional encryption, network, and disaster-recovery options.

Ivalua describes its procurement experiences as mobile-ready and lists Android, iOS, web, and API platforms. Customers can use 24×7 multilingual helpdesk support by phone, email, and online, a ticketing portal, Ivalua Community, and Ivalua Academy for eLearning and partner certification.

Pricing

Ivalua Contract Lifecycle Management is an enterprise CLM plan with custom pricing; contact Ivalua for a quote. The product is paid, and no lower-priced tier, free plan, or trial is described. Buyers should evaluate the quote against the scope they will actually use, particularly if they need only contract storage or signatures rather than the connected procurement capabilities.

The plan sits within a broad procurement feature set that includes approval workflows, purchase orders, supplier management, hosted catalogs, a supplier portal, guided request intake, supplier discovery, sourcing events, reverse auctions, bid comparison, negotiation workflows, supplier onboarding, qualification workflows, document-expiry alerts, and performance scorecards. This breadth can support connected procurement processes, but it also reinforces that the offer is aimed at enterprise-wide operations rather than a narrowly scoped CLM purchase.

Platforms

Ivalua Contract Management is available on Android, iOS, web, and API. Its procurement platform is described as mobile-ready, while integrations and ERP connectors address organizations that need contract processes to fit an existing enterprise stack.

Who it's for

The strongest fit is an enterprise procurement and legal organization that wants shared contract workflows, portfolio visibility, digitization of legacy agreements, and connections to sourcing, supplier, and financial process data. It is less suited to a small team looking for a simple independent repository or signing service, or to buyers who need firm pricing before engaging with a vendor.

Pros and cons

Pros

Shared authoring, review, and approval workflows let procurement and legal work from coordinated drafts and versions.
AI-assisted digitization and search can turn legacy PDF and Word contracts into structured, searchable records.
Repository views and dashboards connect obligations, risk, performance, and consumption for portfolio oversight.
Native Ivalua connections, ERP connectors, and DocuSign and Adobe Sign integrations support continuity with procurement and signing systems.
Selected-geography hosting and reported security attestations give enterprise buyers concrete deployment and assurance options to assess.

Cons

Custom pricing requires a sales conversation and makes cost comparison less direct.
The broad procurement orientation can be excessive for organizations that only need contract storage or basic signing.
Much of the value depends on fitting the workflows, integrations, and contract practices to an organization’s existing environment.

Alternatives

For a different procurement workflow, OpenGov Accounts Payable is a paid API and web option. Zip is another paid API and web platform, with pricing available by demo request. Basware offers a paid subscription model with tailored solutions and no free plan, and OpenProcurement is a free API, self-hosted, and web option without a free trial.

PLANERGY offers a paid full procure-to-pay platform with pricing tailored to the business. Precoro may suit buyers wanting a published starting point: its Core plan is 499.00 USD per month, billed annually, and includes procurement basics, vendor and spend management, integrations, reporting and analytics, and a mobile app. ProcureDesk publishes annual-billed plans, including Startup at 830.00 USD per month with 10 users included and additional users at $20/mo each. Procurify uses custom pricing tailored to products, add-ons, users, and integrations, with Purchasing as the starting product and AP and Expense & Card as add-ons.

Verdict

Ivalua Contract Management is a strong choice for enterprise procurement and legal teams that need contract lifecycle workflows connected to sourcing, supplier, and spend operations. Its integrated repository, digitization, analytics, and controls are the main reasons to choose it; buyers should look elsewhere if they need a small standalone tool, a narrower implementation, or transparent published pricing.
