Overview

OpusClip converts long videos into short clips and supports editing and social publishing in the same workflow. It suits creators and marketing teams repurposing video regularly, especially those who need integrations or an API. The main trade-off is that the free plan is a constrained preview: finishing and exporting work reliably calls for a paid plan.

Key features

AI clipping and highlight detection identify moments to turn into short clips; AI captions, reframing and social presets help adapt them for different destinations. AI B-Roll, audio enhancement and voice-over extend the production toolkit, while transcript-to-post output supports work beyond video. OpusClip supports English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and more than 20 additional languages, making it relevant for multilingual workflows.

The AI Producer is built to turn talking-head footage into publish-ready video. Text-based and timeline editing, along with brand tools, let users refine output instead of relying solely on automatic cuts. That distinction matters by plan: Free has no editing, so it does not provide a complete production workflow.

Pro accepts imports from YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo, Zoom, Rumble, Twitch, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Loom, Riverside and StreamYard. API workflow integration, Zapier and an MCP connector give teams ways to connect OpusClip with CMS and other tools. Its iOS app supports uploads, AI clip generation, caption editing and one-tap sharing on iPhones running iOS 16 or newer.

Pricing

OpusClip is freemium, with a free plan, a 7-day trial and paid plans from $15/mo. Free costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 60 monthly credits and clips rendered up to 1080p, but exports carry a watermark, editing is unavailable and clips can no longer be exported after three days. It can demonstrate the clipping flow, but that short export window makes it unsuitable for keeping a finished publishing workflow.

Starter costs 15.00 USD per month, billed monthly, and includes 150 credits per month, one brand template and watermark removal. It fits individual creators who need clean exports and modest capacity, but it offers fewer credits and no stated team seats or social connections.

Pro costs 29.00 USD per month when billed monthly, or 174.00 USD billed annually ($14.5 USD/mo). It includes 300 credits per month, two seats, two brand templates, six social account connections and rollover of unused credits for two months. With broader video imports and Intercom chat support, it is the clearest fit for professional creators, marketers and small teams; the annual price lowers the monthly equivalent but requires annual billing.

Business has custom pricing. It adds priority processing, customized credits, seats and social connections, dedicated storage, API and custom integrations, enterprise-level security, priority support and a dedicated Slack channel. It is intended for organizations needing tailored capacity or API access rather than a fixed self-serve allowance.

Platforms

OpusClip is available on web, iOS and through an API. The mobile app covers upload, clip generation, caption editing and one-tap sharing, but requires iOS 16 or newer. The security portal lists SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR compliance, with continuous monitoring by Secureframe. For help, the company directs users to Discord and contact@opus.pro; Pro adds Intercom chat and Business adds priority support through a dedicated Slack channel.

Who it's for

Choose OpusClip if your team already has long-form video and wants to turn it into social clips with editing, publishing and workflow connections in one product. Starter works for solo creators seeking watermark-free exports; Pro is a better fit when multiple people, more credits or several social connections matter. Look elsewhere if you need a complete editor without paid credits or if Free's three-day export window is too restrictive.

Pros and cons

Pro supports a broad range of video sources. Its imports span major video, meeting and social platforms, which can reduce friction when repurposing content from varied workflows.
Integrations reach beyond social publishing. API workflow integration, Zapier and an MCP connector give teams options to connect OpusClip with CMS and other tools.
Free is sharply limited for finished work. The watermark, lack of editing and three-day export window make it a trial path rather than a durable publishing plan.
Team capacity starts at Pro. Starter is positioned for individuals, while Pro provides two seats and six social connections; organizations needing tailored capacity must move to custom-priced Business.

Alternatives

Consider Creatify if you want a free plan oriented around video ads: it includes 10 monthly credits, up to two video ads, 20 image ads, 300 AI actors, 10 premium AI models and 40 ad templates.

Fliki has a free plan with three credits per month, a one-minute export limit and 720p resolution, so it is worth comparing if those constraints suit your needs.

Spikes Studio offers a free basic plan with demo clips, a watermark, 720p export, auto-captions, a basic editor and up to 30 minutes of video content per month; consider it if a basic editor on the free tier matters more than OpusClip's no-editing free plan.

Vizard offers 60 free monthly credits, one social account, 60-minute uploads, 1GB upload size, 720p export, a 10-minute export limit and three-day storage. It is a useful comparison if those upload and export limits fit your workflow.

Verdict

OpusClip is a strong fit for creators and marketing teams that regularly repurpose long video and value social publishing plus API and workflow integrations. Its breadth and Pro plan's two seats, six social connections and credit rollover make it more compelling for ongoing team use than the free tier. Choose another tool if you need editing without a paid plan, or if your workflow cannot accommodate monthly credit limits.
