Overview

Unlike a general-purpose photo library, EventPics is centered on collecting attendees’ pictures around an event. Guests can upload through a browser or app using a QR code or link, without creating an account. That lowers the participation barrier when attendees have different devices or do not want another login.

Original-quality storage and downloads preserve the submitted files, but also make the storage allowance an important planning constraint. EventPics is made by Aigner Software e. U., a sole proprietorship owned by Matthias Manuel Aigner in Bad Leonfelden, Austria. The maker says files are stored with Cloudflare R2, EU user events are served from EU servers, and event data is stored in a European Google Firestore region. It also says transfers use HTTPS and both storage providers encrypt stored files.

Key features

Guest uploads and host controls

Hosts can set separate viewing, upload and download permissions, and can require approval before uploads appear in the gallery. These controls suit events where the organizer wants to moderate contributions or limit access. Approval adds a review step for the host, so it is less suitable when immediate, unattended publishing is the priority.

Slideshow and upload integrations

New uploads can appear automatically in a live slideshow opened in a browser on a TV or projector, making the service useful for displaying guest contributions during an event. The free plan includes automatic Google Drive backup, a REST API and a Folder Uploader. The API can upload photos into an album, including from photo booth software. The Windows and macOS Folder Uploader watches a local folder and sends new photos or videos to an event, which gives photographers and booth operators a route from their existing folders.

Original-quality files avoid compression, but they can consume storage quickly. Free includes 2 GB, roughly 500 photos, so video-heavy events or large collections may need a paid tier.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 EUR per free, billed Free forever. It includes 2 GB of storage, unlimited guests and ZIP download, but free events expire: six weeks after immediate start, or four weeks after a planned event date. Expired events have a seven-day recovery period. This is a practical trial for a single event, not a reliable long-term archive.

All paid plans keep events available while the subscription runs and include ad-free use and a highlight video without a watermark. Monthly and annual terms are:

Plan	Monthly	Annual	Storage
Premium 10 GB	4.99 EUR per month	€49.99 per year (€4.17 per month)	10 GB
Premium 25 GB	9.99 EUR per month	€99.99 per year (€8.33 per month)	25 GB
Premium 50 GB	14.99 EUR per month	€149.99 per year (€12.50 per month)	50 GB
Premium 100 GB	19.99 EUR per month	€179.99 per year (€15.00 per month)	100 GB
Premium 200 GB	29.99 EUR per month	€239.99 per year (€20.00 per month)	200 GB

The 10 GB tier is the lowest-cost paid option and suits a modest event collection that should remain available beyond the free expiry window. Larger tiers are for hosts expecting more original files; they increase storage rather than changing the stated core paid benefits. Even paid events stay available only while the subscription runs, so the plans are not a permanent-retention promise.

Platforms

EventPics supports Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web and API access. The Folder Uploader is distributed as ZIP downloads for Windows and macOS; the browser-based slideshow also works on a TV or projector.

Who it's for

EventPics fits weddings, birthdays, company parties, family celebrations, group trips, festivals and other occasions where many people contribute media. It is especially relevant when hosts want guest uploads without accounts, control over gallery access, original files, or a live display. Teams needing an enduring archive independent of a subscription should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Account-free guest uploads via browser or app reduce friction for attendees.
Pros: Separate permissions and optional upload approval give hosts meaningful control over the gallery.
Pros: REST API, Google Drive backup and a folder-watching utility support automated or photographer-led workflows, including photo booth uploads.
Pros: Original-quality downloads and a live slideshow suit events where preserving and displaying contributions both matter.
Cons: The free plan’s 2 GB allowance and event expiry make it a poor fit for large collections or ongoing archives.
Cons: Paid events remain available only while the subscription runs, so long-term access depends on maintaining the plan.

Alternatives

Photo Sharing Software is the broader category to explore when comparing services beyond event-focused albums.

Choose PixShare if its free allowance of one album and 50 images or its Lite plan better matches a smaller sharing need. Flickr is an alternative for a public library, with a free tier of 1,000 public photo and video uploads shown with ads. Immich suits people prepared to run their own server for self-hosted photo management. picdrop is another option to consider for web-based gallery collaboration. Picflow offers a free plan with 2 GB storage, 50 workflow credits and one included seat. Pic-Time is worth considering for client galleries, print-store features and design tools. Piwigo offers a free self-hosted plan with its features, themes and plugins. Pixieset Website is an alternative to consider for a website rather than an event album.

Verdict

EventPics is a strong fit for event hosts who want account-free guest contributions, adjustable permissions and an automatic slideshow, with API and folder-based upload paths for more structured workflows. Choose a paid tier if the collection needs more than 2 GB or should outlast the free event window; look elsewhere if you need a permanent archive that does not depend on an active subscription.
