Overview

ClubDJ Pro is a two-deck DJ app for mixing audio and video on desktop, iOS, or in a browser. It is best suited to DJs who want video tools and automatic transitions alongside standard mixing. The desktop license is a one-time purchase, while the free desktop edition cuts sessions short.

Key features

Mixing and automation

Beat and BPM detection, beat sync, live waveforms, three-band EQ, scratching, and beat-matched loops cover the essentials for shaping a set. Smart Transition can beatmatch and mix between decks; Auto-DJ can play a playlist hands-free. Those options can simplify transitions or unattended playback, but DJs who want full manual control may prefer to leave automation off.

Video and stems

Desktop combines dual-deck video mixing with 25+ GPU effects, 41+ transitions, and 13+ visual overlays. Real-time stem separation can split a track into vocals, melody, bass, and beat. Together with 1080p output to a projector or second screen, these tools make the desktop edition a strong fit for video DJs and VJs; they are not available in the browser mixer.

Controllers, files, and privacy

Desktop supports MIDI controllers and plays local audio and video files, giving DJs a hardware-based setup without relying on a music-streaming service. The maker says the app does not stream from Spotify, and there is no cloud library sync, so it is a poor fit for workflows that depend on Spotify or a library synchronized across devices. Audio is processed locally and not uploaded to the maker's servers, though anonymized usage analytics and crash or performance data are collected.

Pricing

Online Mixer

The browser mixer costs 0.00 USD per free and requires no account. It is a low-commitment way to use the online option, but it gives up video mixing and MIDI support.

iOS Pro subscription (Annual)

The optional iOS Pro subscription costs 29.99 USD per year, billed $29.99 annual, and unlocks all sound effects and premium features. It suits iOS users who want those extras without buying the desktop license; the free iOS option does not include the Pro unlocks.

Desktop

The desktop license costs 39.99 USD per once, billed $39.99 once, and removes the 30-minute session timer while including lifetime updates. The free desktop download has all features unlocked and can be used for commercial gigs, as can the licensed version, but users must relaunch after each 30-minute session. That makes the free edition useful for trying a full-featured setup or short sessions, not for uninterrupted longer sets.

Both desktop versions support commercial gigs. Desktop requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, or macOS 12 Monterey or later.

Platforms

ClubDJ Pro runs on iOS, macOS, Windows, and the web. Desktop is the fullest option for video mixing, stems, MIDI controllers, and external video output; the browser option trades those capabilities for free, account-free access. The maker describes the desktop app for mobile and wedding DJs, video DJs and VJs, beginners, and DJs moving from subscription software.

Who it's for

Choose ClubDJ Pro if you want desktop audio and video mixing, real-time stems, or MIDI support without a recurring desktop license fee. Wedding and mobile DJs can benefit from playlist automation and projector output, while beginners can explore the unlocked desktop features before paying. Look elsewhere if Spotify streaming, cloud library sync, or long free desktop sessions are requirements.

Pros and cons

Pros: The desktop license is a one-time $39.99 purchase with lifetime updates, rather than a recurring desktop subscription.
Pros: Video effects, transitions, overlays, real-time stems, and 1080p output give video DJs and VJs tools beyond audio mixing.
Pros: The free desktop download unlocks all features and permits commercial gigs, making it possible to assess the full desktop workflow before buying.
Cons: Free desktop sessions end after 30 minutes, requiring a relaunch that interrupts longer sets.
Cons: The browser mixer lacks video mixing and MIDI support, so it cannot stand in for the desktop setup in those workflows.
Cons: Local files are the desktop playback option; there is no Spotify streaming or cloud library sync.

Alternatives

DJ Software is the broader category to browse if ClubDJ Pro's limits do not fit your workflow.

djay is worth comparing if you want an Android option; its free download includes core mixing features, with advanced features behind an optional PRO subscription.
rekordbox may suit DJs who want basic music management and DJ features with 1,000 cloud tracks and one synced device on its free plan.
Serato DJ Pro is an option if you prefer a monthly subscription, with its plan priced at 11.99 USD per month.
VirtualDJ may fit nonprofessional use without professional equipment on its free plan.
Mixxx is a free alternative with a full version and no official paid or pro edition.
Cross DJ is another freemium option for macOS, iOS, and Android.
Deejaysystem is another freemium option for Windows.
DJUCED is worth a look if you use a Hercules controller; its free Standard plan includes four decks and MIDI control.

Verdict

ClubDJ Pro is a good match for DJs who want desktop video mixing, stem separation, and MIDI support with a one-time license instead of a recurring desktop fee. Its strongest reason to buy is the range of visual and mixing tools in the desktop app; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the lack of Spotify streaming and cloud library sync. The free desktop edition lets you evaluate the features, but its 30-minute timer makes the $39.99 license the practical choice for longer sets.
