Overview

The app combines ready-made pictures—including mandalas, animals, patterns, and florals—with tools for coloring and creating original artwork. Wildlife Studios launched Colorfy in 2015; the studio was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Sacramento, California. It reports that Colorfy has had more than 90 million users worldwide.

Key features

Coloring library and tools

The iOS app includes more than 1,000 pictures, spanning categories such as cats, gardens, and famous paintings as well as mandalas and animals. Users choose a palette, tap to color, and switch brush types for different effects. The breadth gives casual users plenty of subjects to work through, though the app’s free plan does not state which pictures or tools it includes.

Personal drawings and mandalas

Users can photograph paper drawings and color them in the app, which makes Colorfy more flexible than a library-only coloring book. A separate mode lets users draw original mandalas with a few swipes. These tools suit people who want to bring their own sketches into the process, not just fill in templates.

Display, sharing, and offline use

An augmented-reality gallery lets users visualize drawings in a real-world setting as though they were displayed on a wall. Users can view and share drawings with people around the world and post their own work on social networks. The iOS app works offline without Wi-Fi, useful for coloring away from a connection.

Pricing

Colorfy is freemium. The Free app costs 0.00 USD per free and is a free download with ads and in-app purchases.

Three iOS in-app purchases are shown: Colorfy Subscription at 7.99 USD per once, Colorfy Plus at 9.99 USD per once, and Colorfy Plus Subscription at 19.99 USD per once. Apple does not specify a billing period for these listings, so the “once” prices do not establish whether they are one-time purchases or recurring charges. Colorfy Plus promises new images for download every week, making it the clearest fit for users who value a changing library. Subscription purchases auto-renew at the same price and period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

Platforms

Colorfy is available on Android and iOS. Google Play reports more than 50 million downloads and says the app contains ads and in-app purchases. Its Teen rating and note that users interact are relevant for families considering it. Google Play also says the app may share location, app information and performance, and device or other IDs; data is encrypted in transit, and users can request deletion. Support is available at support+colorfyandroid@fungames-forfree.com.

Who it's for

Colorfy is a good fit for mobile users who want both a substantial collection of themed pictures and creative options beyond coloring pre-made designs. Offline iOS access adds flexibility for coloring without Wi-Fi. It is less compelling for buyers who need predictable subscription billing or a clear account of what the free tier includes before committing.

Pros and cons

Pros: The iOS library has more than 1,000 pictures across varied themes, giving users a wide range of ready-made subjects.
Pros: Photographing paper drawings and creating mandalas support personal artwork, not just template coloring.
Pros: Offline iOS access and AR display broaden where and how users can enjoy their work.
Cons: Ads and in-app purchases accompany the free download, while free-tier content limits are unclear.
Cons: The three Apple purchase entries do not state billing periods, making their costs hard to compare; subscriptions also renew automatically unless canceled in time.
Cons: Google Play says the app may share several categories of user data, a consideration for privacy-conscious users.

Alternatives

InColor is an option for Android, iOS, or macOS users who want a free trial. Consider Pixel Color for a free trial on Android or iOS. Color Tap is free on iOS and macOS, with all content available in the download. Pixel Paint is a free option for Android, iOS, and web. PixelZen is an iOS-only alternative with a free core coloring tier and a monthly premium plan. Chroma runs on Android, iOS, and web. Lake is an iOS option with a free trial and a monthly plan.

Verdict

Choose Colorfy if you want a mobile coloring app that pairs a large themed library with tools for personal drawings and original mandalas, especially if offline iOS use matters. Look elsewhere if clear purchase terms or a defined free-tier allowance are essential to your decision.
