Overview

Teazel has developed mobile games and utilities since 2002. Coloring focuses on mindful coloring and creative sessions that can be brief or extended, with an illustration library spanning themed packs. Its free starting collection makes it possible to begin without a purchase, while ads and optional paid packs shape the free experience.

Key features

Illustrations and tools

The library has more than 3,000 detailed pictures across themed packs, including more than 60 free pictures. That gives casual users a meaningful starting point, though access to additional packs may require optional purchases. Tap-to-fill is suited to coloring enclosed areas quickly; freehand brush mode offers more control for people who prefer drawing directly. An unlimited palette, color picker and pipette, adjustable brush widths, undo, and an eraser provide useful control without narrowing the app to one coloring style.

Gallery and display

Users can post finished pictures to an in-app gallery, like and comment on work, and follow creators. This adds a social dimension for people who want to share progress or find other creators; those seeking a purely private coloring app may not need it. Tablet-optimized layouts, dark mode, left-handed mode, and no coloring time limits support different setups and sessions.

Privacy and audience

The privacy disclosures differ by platform. Teazel’s privacy statement says its apps do not collect personal information, while Google Play reports possible sharing of app activity and device or other IDs, possible collection of personal information and messages among other data, encryption in transit, and deletion requests. Apple says contact information, user content, and identifiers may be linked to the user, while usage data and diagnostics may not be linked. Readers choosing on privacy grounds should weigh the disclosures for the platform they use rather than assume the same handling on both.

The detailed illustrations are designed for adults, and the app is described as not suitable for children. Google Play lists coloring@teazel.com for support.

Pricing

Free download with optional in-app purchases: 0.00 USD per free. The free option includes 60+ pictures; optional subscriptions and picture packs are offered in the app. Ads are also present. This is a sensible starting point for occasional users who can work within the free selection, while people wanting additional picture packs should expect optional purchases. There is no free trial.

Platforms

Coloring is available on Android and iOS. The App Store listing supports iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 15.0 or later or iPadOS 15.0 or later. Tablet layouts and dark mode are supported.

Who it's for

Choose Coloring if you want an adult-oriented library, a choice between filled areas and freehand brushwork, and a gallery for sharing finished pictures. It is less suitable for children, for users who want an ad-free experience without in-app purchases, or for anyone who needs identical privacy disclosures across platforms.

Pros and cons

Pros

More than 60 free illustrations: a substantial sample of a library exceeding 3,000 pictures before buying packs.
Two coloring modes and detailed controls: tap-fill and freehand tools, with palette, picker, brush-width, undo, and eraser options.
Gallery and device accommodations: sharing and creator-following complement tablet layouts, dark mode, and left-handed mode.

Cons

Ads and paid packs: the free download is not an ad-free, all-content option.
Adult-only positioning: the app is expressly described as unsuitable for children.
Privacy disclosures vary: Google Play and Apple describe potential data handling that differs from Teazel’s privacy statement.

Alternatives

For a broader set of coloring-app options, browse Coloring Apps. Colorfy is another freemium Android and iOS option with ads and in-app purchases; its listed subscription is a one-time 7.99 USD in-app purchase, with no billing period specified by Apple.

Coloring Book: Color by Number adds Windows support alongside Android and iOS, and offers a free ad-supported option. InColor is another freemium choice for Android, iOS, and macOS, with a free selection, ads, and a free trial.

Pixel Color is a freemium Android and iOS alternative with a free download and in-app purchases; its weekly Pixel Pro subscription unlocks all content and features. Color Tap is free on iOS and macOS, with all content available in the download.

Pixel Paint is a free option for Android, iOS, and web from a two-person remote team. PixelZen is an iOS freemium alternative with core coloring, books, daily challenges, streaks, achievements, and daily tool charges in its free plan. Chroma is freemium on Android, iOS, and web.

Verdict

Coloring is a strong fit for adults who want a sizable illustration library, practical brush and fill controls, and an optional community gallery on a phone or tablet. Its free collection is a useful entry point, but ads, paid picture packs, and platform-specific privacy disclosures are reasons to look elsewhere if you need an ad-free or more consistent privacy proposition.
