Overview

PayPulse benchmarks salaries for employers in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, with role matching and analysis aimed at local pay decisions. It suits People and reward teams hiring in those markets; its narrow geography is a real constraint for teams that need wider coverage.

Headquartered in St Helier, Jersey, PayPulse combines AI role classification with salary data contributed by organisations in the Crown Dependencies. Its fit depends on whether that regional coverage matches your workforce and hiring plans.

Key features

Role matching uses job classification and skills to align positions for like-for-like comparisons. That can help teams compare roles beyond title alone, while the resulting benchmarks remain tied to the platform’s Crown Dependencies coverage.

Customisable drag-and-drop dashboards support market-rate comparisons, pay-equity analysis and competitive positioning. Reports can be exported in multiple formats. Benchmarks are anonymised and aggregated into market snapshots, then refreshed periodically as new data is contributed, rather than continuously.

Pay data can sync by API from HiBob, Breathe HR, Access PeopleHR, Sage and YouManage; CSV upload provides a route for teams using other systems. PayPulse says it does not show individual records to other organisations or make them traceable to a person or employer.

The privacy notice describes need-to-know access controls, confidentiality obligations and procedures for suspected data breaches. PayPulse Limited identifies itself as a data controller under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 and gives its Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner registration number as 102459. It says it does not collect special category data from clients. Its stated storage uses Office 365, OneDrive and SharePoint on Azure, with preferred locations in Dublin and London.

Pricing

PayPulse is paid, with custom pricing discussed during a demo; no public plan prices are stated. Prospective customers can book a 30-minute video demo to discuss pricing, roles and data security. A short intake form sets up an organisation before it connects an HR system or uploads a CSV.

There is a free AI levelling tool for assessing the first three roles, matching each to a job family and level. This is a limited way to assess role classification, not a substitute for the paid platform’s salary benchmarking and analysis. Association of Jersey Charities members can access PayPulse free of charge, making it a particularly relevant option for eligible charities in the covered markets.

Platforms

PayPulse offers web access and API connectivity. The API can sync salary data from five named HR systems, while CSV upload gives teams a fallback when they do not use those integrations.

Who it's for

PayPulse is designed for People, HR and reward teams setting pay in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man. Its audience includes regulated-finance employers, scaling businesses and charities. It is a stronger fit for regional benchmarking than for organisations that need broad international comparisons.

Pros and cons

Pros: Role and skills matching supports like-for-like comparisons; pay-equity and market-position analysis are part of the platform; API sync and CSV upload offer two ways to bring in salary data.
Pros: Anonymised, aggregated snapshots and the stated privacy controls address sensitive compensation data; qualifying Association of Jersey Charities members have free access.
Cons: Benchmarks cover only the Crown Dependencies, limiting usefulness for teams setting pay in other markets.
Cons: Custom pricing requires a conversation, so buyers cannot compare a public rate or plan limits before a demo.
Cons: Benchmark updates are periodic, which may not suit teams seeking continuously refreshed market data.

Verdict

Choose PayPulse if your team sets pay in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man and wants role matching, pay-equity analysis and a way to sync or upload salary data. Its focused regional benchmarks are the reason to consider it—and the reason to look elsewhere if your decisions span markets beyond the Crown Dependencies. Charity members eligible for free access have an especially clear reason to evaluate it.
