Overview

ComplianceHR is an employment-law platform for HR and legal teams managing policies, documents, and classification decisions across the United States. It is most compelling for employers with 250 or more employees and multi-jurisdiction needs. Its breadth of legal and workflow tools is a strength, but custom pricing and no native HRIS integrations make fit and total cost important questions for buyers.

Key features

The platform divides its work among four centers: Reference Center for employment-law guidance, Document Center for employment documents, Policy Center for handbooks, and Risk Center for overtime and independent-contractor classification through Navigator OT and Navigator IC.

Reference Center covers practical subjects such as final pay, FMLA, minimum wage, predictive scheduling, and workplace posters. Littler Mendelson attorneys author and continually update the legal content, and coverage spans all 50 states and relevant localities. That makes the library suited to teams whose questions depend on state or local rules as well as federal law.

Document Center creates jurisdiction-specific documents, including offer letters and leave requests, through guided prompts. Policy Center offers federal and state-specific handbook templates, compliance timelines, jurisdiction-specific checklists, and monthly email updates. Together, these tools support repeatable policy and document workflows across locations, rather than leaving every jurisdictional variation to ad hoc drafting.

Risk Center evaluates overtime and independent-contractor classification decisions. Its reports record recommendations, applicable laws, and the decision transcript, giving teams a written account of the reasoning behind a classification review. Regulatory alerts, policy templates, audit trails, and a handbook builder further support ongoing compliance work; compliance training is also included among its capabilities.

Customers receive a dedicated Customer Success Manager and access to documentation and resources through the Knowledge Center. The trade-off for organizations standardizing on an HRIS is integration: native HRIS integrations are not offered. Enterprise clients may be offered custom API-based integrations, so buyers should not assume a connection is available without confirming the scope.

Pricing

ComplianceHR uses paid, custom pricing. Reference Center, Document Center, and Policy Center are user-based, with volume discounts; Navigator IC/OT is priced per use. That separates recurring access to the core centers from usage-based classification reviews, but buyers will need a quote to compare costs against their expected users and case volume.

Limited-time free trials may be available. Prospective customers can request a demo for a personalized quote. No trial duration or fixed plan price is provided, so teams should confirm those terms along with how usage is measured before committing.

Platforms

ComplianceHR is offered on the web and through an API. The API may support custom enterprise integration work, but it does not change the absence of native HRIS connections. The product is focused on U.S. employment requirements, with state and relevant local coverage across the country.

Who it's for

This is a strong candidate for HR and legal teams at larger employers that manage policies or worker classifications across multiple jurisdictions. The combined legal reference, document, handbook, and review workflows are most valuable when those tasks recur across a substantial workforce. Smaller employers with straightforward requirements may find the breadth and custom-quote buying process harder to justify.

ComplianceHR describes itself as a Littler subsidiary that operates independently as its self-serve technology arm. That relationship is relevant to teams seeking attorney-authored legal content, while the platform itself remains a software tool for managing compliance workflows.

Pros and cons

Broad U.S. coverage: All 50 states and relevant localities are covered, supporting employers with jurisdiction-specific obligations.
Legal content with defined provenance: Littler Mendelson attorneys author and update the material, useful for teams that need employment-law guidance alongside operational tools.
Documented classification reviews: Navigator reports capture recommendations, relevant laws, and decision transcripts, creating a record of the review process.
Useful policy workflow: Handbook templates, timelines, checklists, monthly updates, and a handbook builder address recurring policy maintenance across locations.
No native HRIS integrations: Organizations that expect an out-of-the-box connection must look elsewhere or verify whether a custom enterprise API integration is possible.
Costs require a quote: User-based core centers and per-use Navigator pricing make budgeting dependent on a personalized proposal and anticipated usage.

Verdict

Choose ComplianceHR if your HR or legal team needs attorney-authored employment-law content paired with document, handbook, and classification workflows across U.S. jurisdictions. Its strongest reason to buy is the combination of legal coverage and documented decision support in one platform. Look elsewhere if native HRIS integration or transparent, fixed pricing is a requirement.
