Overview

SurveyToGo is a market-research platform for designing questionnaires and managing interviewer-led studies across personal, web and telephone channels. It is strongest for agencies coordinating offline fieldwork and interview quality across a team. The trade-off is a response-based plan structure whose prices require a sales conversation.

Key features

Questionnaires and collection

SurveyToGo supports CAPI, CAWI and CATI, with online and offline collection. Its designer includes branching, skips, filters, loops, piping, scripts and randomized rotations, so researchers can build questionnaires that adapt to answers and study rules rather than relying on a fixed sequence. Offline responses are stored locally and uploaded automatically when connectivity returns, a meaningful advantage for field teams working in areas with unreliable service.

Surveys can display images, sounds and videos, while interviewers can attach photos, video and sound to responses. That suits studies where visual or audio evidence matters, though those attachments add material for project teams to manage.

Quality, quotas and oversight

GPS tracking, silent voice recording, suspicious-interview flags and a review console for accepting or rejecting interviews give supervisors concrete ways to inspect fieldwork. Global or interviewer-level quotas support control at either study or individual interviewer level. Central management brings quotas together with interview history, attachments, locations and permissions, which is useful for agencies overseeing distributed projects; it may be more process than a small, simple survey needs.

Reporting, integrations and security

SurveyToGo Insights and data connectors are included at no additional cost, and visualization integrations include Power BI and Google Looker. Customers can access account data through an API, while a command-line utility supports automatic exports. These options make the platform more workable in an existing reporting and data pipeline, although teams should assess the API and connector fit against their own stack.

Dooblo’s information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for SaaS data collection and questionnaire management operations. The company also describes biometric server locks, continuous surveillance, security patching and an enterprise-class firewall. Its privacy policy states an intent to comply or be compatible with applicable data-protection laws, including GDPR where applicable in the EU and EEA.

Pricing

SurveyToGo uses a freemium model. New users can start with 50 preloaded interviews; test-mode interviews do not consume production credits, but only 10 test interviews per survey are retained at a time. The 50-response allowance makes free access useful for evaluation or a small pilot, not a substitute for planning a larger study’s response needs.

Paid interview tiers run from 100 to 60,000 interviews: 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 6,000, 12,000, 20,000, 30,000 and 60,000. Each tier includes unlimited users, devices, surveys and questions. Prices are custom pricing, so teams must confirm cost for their expected interview volume before budgeting. The unlimited user and device terms favor projects that need many fieldworkers; the interview allowance remains the key capacity limit. A free trial is also offered.

Hosted service is available, as is an on-premise model; on-premise details require a sales inquiry. That option may suit organizations seeking a self-hosted deployment, but its terms and cost need to be established directly.

Platforms

SurveyToGo supports Android, iOS, Windows, web, API and self-hosted deployment. The range accommodates mobile field interviewers, browser-based project work and integration needs across different environments.

Who it's for

SurveyToGo is a strong fit for small or large market-research agencies that run interviewer-led projects, need offline collection, or must apply quotas and quality checks across multiple interviewers. Its media capture and project oversight also suit studies where evidence and fieldwork accountability matter. Teams seeking a lightweight form for straightforward online feedback may find the quota, review and fieldwork controls unnecessary, while buyers with fixed budgets may hesitate until custom pricing is clear.

Pros and cons

Pro: Offline storage with automatic upload supports collection where network access is intermittent.
Pro: Interview-level review tools, GPS, silent recording and quota controls provide practical oversight of field teams.
Pro: Unlimited users, devices, surveys and questions in the listed interview tiers let projects scale their working team without a stated seat cap.
Pro: API access, automated command-line exports and included connectors support integration into reporting workflows.
Con: Paid-tier prices are custom, making it harder to compare costs or forecast spend without contacting sales.
Con: Free access is capped at 50 production responses, and test retention is limited to 10 interviews per survey at a time.
Con: On-premise deployment requires a sales inquiry, so organizations cannot assess its terms from the plan structure alone.

Alternatives

Consider LimeSurvey if a freemium survey platform with API and self-hosted options is a closer fit: its free tier is 25 responses per month for one admin user, while SurveyToGo emphasizes fieldwork and interview management.

Qualtrics is another freemium option; its free surveys are for one user, with three active surveys, 30 questions per survey and 500 total responses.

SoSci Survey is an alternative freemium survey platform with a free research plan for 5,000 respondents.

SurveyMonkey offers a free Basic plan for simple surveys, forms and quizzes, with 10 questions per survey and limited responses per survey.

Alchemer is an alternative freemium survey platform.

Conjointly is an alternative freemium survey platform with a free trial.

DataLion is an alternative freemium platform with API, web and self-hosted options.

Surveti is an alternative freemium platform with API access.

Verdict

SurveyToGo is a good choice for research agencies that need offline interviewer collection, quota management and meaningful controls over interview quality. Its broad design tools and unlimited users and devices in the interview tiers support complex field projects. Look elsewhere if transparent pricing is essential before a sales discussion, or if a basic online survey does not justify its fieldwork machinery.
