Overview

Connecteam is a workforce-management app for deskless employees, bringing scheduling, operations, communications and training into one product. It suits teams that want staff coordination alongside everyday HR and communication tools, rather than a standalone rota planner. Its hub-based plans let businesses choose where to start, but costs and user charges vary by hub.

Key features

Operations and scheduling

The Operations Hub combines a time clock and job scheduling with forms and quick tasks. Auto-scheduling, availability collection, time-off management, open shifts and shift swaps cover common coverage workflows; that breadth is useful for managers coordinating changing schedules. The app requires an internet connection, however, so teams needing offline operation should look elsewhere.

Communications and HR

The Communications Hub includes chat, updates, a directory, surveys, events, a knowledge base and a help desk. The HR & Skills Hub adds time off, courses, quizzes, documents, recognition, rewards, hiring, onboarding and an org chart. Together these hubs can consolidate staff-facing tools, although businesses interested only in shift planning may be paying for breadth they do not need.

Integrations, API and security

Connecteam lists integrations with ADP Workforce Now, Gusto, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bamboo HR, Lightspeed Restaurant K series, Square and Wix. It describes API keys, Zapier API-key authentication, webhooks and OAuth 2.0 for integrations and data transfer, giving teams several stated connection methods. It says it complies with GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 and CCPA, and places data centers in Germany on AWS and the Netherlands on MS Azure.

Pricing

Connecteam has a free plan and a 14-day free trial without a credit card. Businesses with fewer than 10 employees can use the free Small Business Plan. The Limited plan is 0.00 USD per free, with limited feature access; the free plan is useful for small teams validating fit, but its feature access is restricted.

Hub Basic plans are billed yearly at 29.00 USD per month for the first 30 users. Operations Hub Basic charges $0.8/month for each additional user; HR & Skills Hub Basic and Communications Hub Basic each charge $0.5/month per additional user. These plans suit organizations that want one hub at a time, but the extra-user charges mean the starting price is not the full cost for larger teams.

Other listed plans are Basic at 35.00 USD per month, Advanced at 59.00 USD per month and Expert at 119.00 USD per month, each for the first 30 users with 30 users included. They offer higher plan tiers, but the plan details given do not establish which added features distinguish them, so buyers should compare the scope they need before choosing. Enterprise has custom pricing and includes single sign-on and increased API rate limits, making it the stated option for organizations with those requirements.

Platforms

Connecteam supports Android, iOS, web and API, with mobile apps and desktop access. It is optimized for smartphones and desktop computers; supported mobile versions are Android 6.0 or later and iOS 15.5 or later. The internet requirement is a practical limitation for staff working where connectivity is unreliable.

Who it's for

Connecteam is best suited to deskless teams that want scheduling and operational workflows alongside communications and employee-development tools. Its integrations and stated API connection options may also suit businesses fitting it into an existing software stack. Teams with fewer than 10 employees can start on the free Small Business Plan; growing teams should account for the first-30-user pricing and per-user charges on hub plans. It is less suitable for operations that require offline use or for buyers who need only a focused scheduling tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scheduling combines auto-scheduling, availability, open shifts, shift swaps and time-off management, covering several recurring coordination needs.
Pros: Three hubs combine operations, staff communications and HR and skills tools, which can reduce the need for separate employee-facing products.
Pros: The product names established accounting, HR and workforce integrations and supports API keys, webhooks and OAuth 2.0.
Cons: Offline use is not supported, limiting its fit for teams without reliable internet access.
Cons: Hub Basic prices cover the first 30 users only, with additional-user charges that vary by hub.
Cons: The free plan has limited feature access, while higher-tier plans have materially higher listed monthly prices.

Verdict

Choose Connecteam if a deskless workforce needs scheduling, daily operations, communication and training in one app, with integration paths into an existing stack. Its breadth is the central reason to choose it; the internet-only requirement and hub-specific pricing and user charges are the reasons to look elsewhere when offline access or a simpler scheduling-only fit matters more.
