Overview

Continu is an enterprise learning platform for companies training employees, customers, and partners. It is best suited to teams that need to create and deliver learning across several audiences, rather than organizations seeking a lightweight course host. Its breadth is useful, but request-based pricing, implementation cost, and a recommended 60-day setup make it a considered purchase.

Founded in 2012 and based in New York, Continu combines learning creation, delivery, and reporting with branded external portals and separate Hubs for sub-brands. Eddy extends learning support into Slack, Microsoft Teams, and SMS.

Its scope spans Customer Education Software, Partner Training Software, and Learning Management Systems. Restaurant operators can also compare Restaurant Employee Training Software, while sales-focused teams can browse Sales Training Software.

Key features

Creation, delivery, and measurement

Built-in authoring tools and AI assistance support courses, learning journeys, and assessments. Automated assignment workflows connect that content to delivery, while Continu Insights generates real-time reports from learning data. Together, these capabilities suit organizations running continuing programs and needing visibility beyond course completion; teams with only occasional training may find the system broader than they need. Assessments and certificates support evaluation and recognition within those programs.

Audience portals and learning support

Branded portals give external audiences a tailored learning destination, and Hubs allow separate experiences for sub-brands. This is a practical fit for companies serving distinct customer or partner groups, though it adds little for a single, internal-only audience. Eddy can provide learning answers and training through Slack, Microsoft Teams, and SMS, putting support in channels learners may already use.

Integrations, security, and availability

The integrations directory includes Workday, Salesforce, BambooHR, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, LinkedIn Learning, and Udemy for Business. That breadth can help Continu fit into established HR, collaboration, and learning stacks. Continu says it undergoes annual SOC 2 Type II audits, encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2 or 1.3, and is GDPR and CCPA compliant; it also lists ISO 27001 practices. It advertises a 99.99% uptime guarantee and publishes status at status.continu.co.

Pricing

Continu is paid, has no free plan, and uses custom pricing. Its tiers are sized by monthly active users rather than offering published prices:

Growth: custom pricing for under 1,000 monthly active users. It includes access to implementation experts, success experts, technical support, and self-service training resources, making it the entry tier for smaller deployments that need guided support.
Professional: custom pricing for 1,000–5,000 monthly active users, for organizations moving beyond Growth's audience range.
Enterprise: custom pricing for 5,000 or more monthly active users, for the largest user populations.

The audience thresholds are the clearest published distinction between tiers, so teams should match their expected monthly active users to the appropriate range. Continu says implementation costs 10% of the first-year contract value and recommends allowing 60 days for setup. That upfront cost and lead time matter for budget planning and launches on a fixed schedule.

Platforms

Continu supports web, Android, and iOS, as well as Windows, macOS, and Linux. API access is available. Learners completing screen-recording assessments must install the Continu Screen Capture Chrome extension, a requirement to account for in managed-browser or locked-down device environments.

Who it's for

Continu is a strong fit for organizations that need one platform for employee learning and education for customers or partners, especially when those external audiences need branded portals or distinct sub-brand experiences. Its authoring, assignment workflows, reporting, assessments, certificates, and integrations also suit teams managing structured programs across multiple groups. It is less compelling for buyers who need a basic course library, a free starting tier, or a fast deployment without implementation planning.

Pros and cons

Pro: One platform covers authoring, automated assignment, assessments, certificates, and real-time learning reports, supporting a full training cycle.
Pro: Branded portals and Hubs accommodate external audiences and sub-brands without reducing the product to an internal LMS.
Pro: Connections to tools such as Workday, Salesforce, Slack, and Microsoft Teams help it fit into established business stacks.
Con: All three tiers have custom pricing, and implementation adds 10% of first-year contract value, making cost evaluation less direct.
Con: The recommended 60-day setup makes Continu a poor match for teams that need training live quickly.
Con: Screen-recording assessments require a Chrome extension, which can complicate use on managed or restricted devices.

Alternatives

For restaurant operators comparing workforce training and related tools, Wisetail is another paid option, with solutions described as ranging from getting started to enterprise and custom quotes. Crunchtime Labor & Scheduling is worth considering for restaurant operators with 10 or more locations who want to discuss pricing through a demo. Operandio uses custom pricing based on locations or users, selected modules, and business requirements. Crunchtime TalentLink is another paid option.

For teams comparing learning platforms, iSpring LMS offers a free trial and a Business option priced at 3.97 USD per year as described for 500 users, with a stated $23,790 annual price and pay-only-for-active-users terms. Nano LMS has a free plan and a self-hosted option, making it a different starting point for buyers prioritizing those attributes. eloomi offers paid Play and Boost tiers, including course-building, SCORM, learning plans, and certifications in Play. Restaurant365 Training is another paid option with custom-quoted workforce management that includes customizable training programs.

Verdict

Choose Continu if your organization needs to create, assign, and measure learning across employees and external audiences, with branded portals and integrations to support the stack you already run. Its breadth is the main reason to shortlist it; the main reasons to look elsewhere are custom pricing plus implementation costs and timing, or the Chrome extension requirement for screen-recording assessments.
