Overview

The platform supports employee onboarding, compliance training, certifications and renewals, skill development, collaborative learning, and training for customers, partners, and members. Administrators can manage content and use reporting and analytics to track learning, while learners can follow personalized paths and recommendations. Support for frontline, clinical, technical, and knowledge teams makes it relevant to organizations with varied workforce needs.

Organizations can bring internal SCORM, AICC, and xAPI content together with subscriptions from more than 200 providers. The catalog covers compliance, leadership, digital fluency, AI, IT, health and safety, and personal development; the product also states a course count of 6,800. Content integrations include LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, OpenSesame, Skillsoft, and Udacity. That range can support a broad training program, though buyers should weigh the platform's scope against the needs of a narrower learning operation.

Key features

Learning and compliance

Assessments, certificates, learning paths, social learning, gamification, and analytics span both structured training and ongoing development. Automated training assignments, certification renewals, and evidence collection help organizations manage compliance across roles and regions. This is a meaningful advantage where training obligations recur; teams without those requirements may have less need for the administrative breadth.

AI and skills development

AI capabilities include learning prioritization, conversational learning, content summarization, compliance monitoring, and content curation and assignment. The product also supports skill-gap analysis, skills inference, career pathways, workforce planning, performance reviews, succession planning, internal mobility, and opportunity matching. Opportunities can include projects, gigs, learning paths, mentorships, and open roles. Together, these tools make Cornerstone relevant when learning is part of a wider talent-development program, not only course delivery.

Content, access, and integrations

The iOS and Android app supports course access, progress tracking, training completion, and offline content access. Cornerstone says the product is available in 50 languages, while its content languages are stated as two; buyers serving multilingual learners should distinguish interface reach from content coverage. Learners can access Cornerstone through Salesforce Agentforce and Microsoft 365. Cornerstone Extend adds prebuilt integrations, connectors, APIs, a partner marketplace, data import, and webhooks for near-instant updates.

Security and compliance controls

Cornerstone lists ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 Type II, CSA STAR Level 1, GDPR, DORA, CCPA and CPRA, ISO/IEC 42001, FedRAMP Moderate, DoD IL4 provisional authorization, and 21 CFR Part 11 among its certifications and controls. This range is relevant to organizations with demanding security or regulatory requirements, though buyers should confirm which controls apply to their deployment and use case.

Pricing

Cornerstone Learning uses custom pricing based on organizational needs and size. There is no free trial, and prospective customers are directed to book a demo or product tour and discuss requirements with Cornerstone. That sales-led approach suits organizations evaluating a broad workforce program, but teams needing a public price to compare costs early will have to engage before judging budget fit.

Platforms

Cornerstone Learning is a cloud product with web, API, iOS, and Android access. Its mobile app and offline support suit learners who need to complete or track training away from a desktop. Single sign-on and API access are supported, giving organizations options for connecting learning with existing identity and software environments.

Who it's for

Cornerstone is a strong candidate for organizations coordinating training across global, complex, or regulated workforces, especially when compliance, certifications, and career development belong in the same program. Its support for multiple workforce types and customer, partner, and member training broadens its use beyond employee courses. Small teams or buyers seeking a simple standalone content library should look for a narrower solution.

Pros and cons

Pros: Combines learning management, personalized learning, skills, and career-development capabilities, which can support a connected workforce program.
Pros: Automates assignments, renewals, and compliance evidence, helping teams manage recurring obligations across roles and regions.
Pros: Supports internal content standards, a broad provider catalog, and content integrations, giving organizations several routes to assemble learning material.
Cons: Custom pricing and no free trial make it harder to assess cost and fit without contacting sales.
Cons: The platform's breadth may be unnecessary for organizations that only need a small course library or basic training administration.
Cons: The stated 50 product languages alongside two content languages may leave a gap for organizations expecting broad multilingual course coverage.
