Overview

Cozi brings family events and routine household tasks together: members share a color-coded calendar, lists, recipes, and weekly dinner planning. Reminders and agenda emails help keep plans visible, and a grocery list can be emailed to whoever is picking up the shopping. This makes Cozi a practical fit for household coordination, not a substitute for a permissioned team workspace.

One account supports up to 12 family members, and each can view, add, edit, and delete account data. That broad access keeps collaboration straightforward, but there is no restricted-access option for members. Calendar feeds to and from Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar are read-only, so Cozi will frustrate households that expect edits to synchronize in both directions.

Cozi began in 2005 and is based in Seattle. Accounts work on the web and in iOS and Android apps. Video meeting support is included, though the product's main strength is organizing family schedules and tasks.

Key features

Calendar and lists

The shared calendar is color-coded and supports reminders and agenda emails. Families can share grocery lists, email a list to a shopper, and create to-do, chore, packing, and other lists without a stated cap on the number of lists. That breadth covers recurring household coordination, while one-way calendar feeds leave users with external calendars managing updates separately.

Recipes and meals

The recipe library supports weekly dinner planning, and ingredients can be sent to a shopping list. Linking meal choices to groceries is useful for households that plan meals in Cozi; it is less compelling for readers who only need a calendar and already handle food planning elsewhere.

Support and privacy

Cozi directs support requests to email rather than offering phone support. Gold subscribers receive priority email support. Its privacy policy identifies OurFamilyWizard, LLC as the controller of personal data processed through the platforms and describes collecting account details such as names, email addresses, and IP addresses.

Pricing

Cozi is freemium. Cozi Free costs 0.00 USD per free and includes a shared family calendar, automatic notifications, shared grocery and to-do lists, and a recipe library. It is the sensible starting point for families who need the core organizer without paying for upgrades.

Cozi Gold costs 39.00 USD per year, billed yearly. It includes everything in Free, ad-free use, premium features, up to three reminders per event, and one subscription for everyone in the account. Gold suits households that want more reminders and the paid experience without buying individual seats. A two-week Gold trial is available when starting a subscription on the web; app store subscriptions do not offer the trial.

Cozi Max costs 79.00 USD per year, billed yearly. It includes everything in Gold plus AI Event Import, AI Recipe Creator, and AI Meal Planner. It is aimed at families who expect to use those AI tools; otherwise, Gold costs less for the shared organizer and its additional reminders. The subscription applies to everyone in the account rather than charging per member.

Platforms

Cozi is available on the web, iOS, and Android. Its integrations with Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar are read-only, which preserves visibility across calendars but does not provide bidirectional updates.

Who it's for

Cozi fits households that want one shared place for events, errands, chores, and meal planning, especially when all account members can have the same editing rights. It is a weaker choice for families that need role-based access, or for users whose workflow depends on edits syncing both ways with another calendar.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad household toolkit: A shared calendar, several kinds of lists, recipes, dinner planning, and grocery-list sharing cover more than scheduling alone.
Room for a large household: One account supports up to 12 members, and a Gold subscription covers everyone in it.
Useful free starting point: Free includes the shared calendar, notifications, grocery and to-do lists, and recipe library.

Cons

No member restrictions: Every included family member can view, add, edit, and delete account data.
One-way calendar feeds: External calendar connections are read-only rather than a two-way sync.
No phone support: Support is by email, with priority email reserved for Gold subscribers.

Verdict

Choose Cozi if your household wants shared schedules, lists, recipes, and meal planning in one account, with a free tier and a paid plan that covers every member. Its main advantage is that practical household breadth; look elsewhere if members need different access rights or external calendars must sync changes both ways.
